No front license plate provision?

Hi all, new guy here who just bought a 2024 Bronco Sport Heritage about a week ago.
When I finished my paperwork at the dealership last Saturday, the sales guy hands me my front plate & tells me they don't like to drill the front bumper to mount plates. I live in Wisconsin so it's mandatory to mount both plates we're given with motor vehicles. The dealer put the rear plate on when I closed the sale at the store.

So after driving around for a week without the plate, I got up close & person with the bumper & there looks to be no provision to mount a plate on the front of this truck. Are the tiny little dimples that are visible where they're supposed to be drilled? Anything behind the cover there (metal) or just trust the plastic to never strip out?

Last thing I want to do it mess up my one week old Bronco just randomly poking holes in the front bumper/cover.

Any help is appreciated.

they should've given you a mounting plate that rivets on. its a factory part. thats how ours came.

Ford says front plate mount should be on vehicle in all states where front plate is required. Think I’d go have a talk with the dealer. I had mine pre-ordered and delivered through CA dealer — plate mount was on vehicle when delivered.

I live in NJ which also has mandatory front license plates. Ford supplies the front license plate bracket for vehicles sold in the states that require it. The dealer should have installed the front license plate bracket. My dealer did not install the bracket until they got the new registration and mounted the license plate. I would go back to the dealer and insist that they install the license plate bracket. Not sure if another dealer would want to do it as this is part of the delivery process. I do not think that you would want to do it yourself since if you mess it up it would be on you. I would also contact Ford if necessary and have them supply the OEM bracket and find out if you could take it to another dealer if necessary.

Also, check to see if there your state has an option to not add the plate bracket on by paying a fee of some kind. In Nebraska, if we don't want the front license plate on, we pay an extra $50 and they give us a sticker to stick on the inside of our windshield. I specifically told my salesman to not put the plate bracket on mine. The states don't usually mention it, I only found out on one of my Corvette groups about it!

Mine came with the front plate bracket and rivets in the spare tire area (packaged in a plastic bag). I just had to drill the bumper (cover) at the aforementioned dimples and install the bracket using the supplied rivets. Cheers!

It seems like dealers just aren’t that interested when it comes to front plate brackets. However, I thought they’d be somewhat more diligent in front plate mandatory states.

I have a novelty plate I wanted to fit so I asked my dealer for a bracket included when my car arrived. They were like yeah, yeah, no problem.
No.

In the end, I bought one off eBay and got a mate to fit it.

Yes the 4 dimples are the drill points but you should at least get a free bracket from your dealer, if not have them install it.

It is meant to be riveted on. It isn't hard but I guess not everyone has a rivet gun.

We bought our 21 Bronco Sport in NC that does not require a front license plate. I had to buy a front bracket from our local dealer & I mounted the bracket to the front bumper using self-tapping screws.

Have a look at your window sticker and see if it was supposed to be included. It should have been. Then go back to the dealer and ask them, what gives? (btw my plate is on there but it's edited out)

There's no charge for the license plate frame in states which require a front plate.
