My 2026 Ford Bronco Sport Badland Sasquatch HATES Me

Well first off that isn't fixing the problem. Second I do not touch the inside lock nor the outside handle when I close the door. The vehicle should work properly, not having to wear a lanyard around my neck or take the key with me. Every other Bronco Sport I have had, has never required me to wear a key on a lanyard nor remove the key. The key inside is suppose to stop the vehicle from locking so yiu don't lock your keys in it. As for why I get a new Bronco Sport Badlands every 3 years, is because I can, and I like to keep up to date with the new technology, but not so sure this one is.

It's really difficult to put the remote in your pocket.

Vehicle is a 2026 new only 3 weeks old and it does it with both fobs. Craziest thing I have ever seen. I just thought someone might have had the same problem with a 2026 that is brand new is all. Once we get that figured out will try to find why the passenger power seat back sometimes is laid back when I go to get in the vehicle when no one has touched it. He passenger only weights 110 lbs. One mystery at a time.

Well, first off I'd like to tell you you are definitely not crazy. What you're experiencing is not abnormal. I have a 2025 Big Bend and I can assure you 100% that if the key is left inside the vehicle it will lock. I didn't think it would but for the first two weeks of ownership I was looking for my spare key, I even contacted my salesman because I thought he was the last one with it and may still have it. It. He claims he put it in my center console. He did not. I thought it was in the small envelope with paperwork that he had given me and I had laid on my kitchen table and never really looked at until I wanted the spare key and noticed it wasn't in there. That's when I contacted him to find out if he had it. Then I went searching the vehicle. Mind you in the dark and didn't find the key. Then when I went to put in my The reason we like doing it this way is fast. Floor mats, on the passenger side between the door sill and the passenger seat. I noticed something shiny. I reached down and it was the end of my key fob. That key fob had been in my vehicle since the two weeks prior that I purchased it. My vehicle had been locked everyday. With that key fob inside. There is no settings that will change this. All the information I've read on the securilock system says this is not possible but I can attest 100% that it is possible and as you have clearly seen it is possible.
As for your seat belt chimes, if you look in your owner's manual, it will tell you the procedure to go through to eliminate your seat belt chime. This procedure must be done for each individual seat position that will be occupied and you want to remove the chimes. I personally used forscan to completely eliminate my seat belt chimes much easier than doing the procedure for each individual seat.
As for your passenger seat reclining on its own, that one I would suggest you may want to seek out somebody to perform a seance and expel the demon from that seat and by demon I don't mean your wife or gf lol

So I just tested this today on my '25 BLSas. Unlocked, got in, placed the fob in the center tray, got out, closed door while still unlocked. Waited 30 minutes. Doors didn't lock.

Your car beeping at out you about not putting your seat belt on is not a defect.

I do believe I was talking about it beeping forever instead of only like 3 or 4 times like my 2023, and if I am working around my property in and out of the vehicle it really gets annoying L0L. I always wear my seat belt off my property when on the road. I'd like to know why the beeping is continuous wirh the 2026 models is all or did they change that with the 24s or 25s, is all.

L0L at the exorcism! Weird that my other 2 Bronco Sports if I left the other key fob in the vehicle would lock and when I got about 5ft away I would hear it unlock. So it would not stay locked if the other fob was in the vehicle. But in this case I can have one fob in the vehicle and it will lock itself once I M away far enough that I can hear it do it. The exact opposite than my other vehicles. I don't mind 3 or 4 beeps to remind me to put the seat belt on, but it is continuous and drives me nuts when I am working on my property or driving from.the end.of my lane way to the house after getting my mail, where I don't need to have the seat belt on. Thanks for the tips on how to correct it. I just feel that it shouldn't have been that way in the first place.

As I said I don't mind it beeping a few times but continuous while working on my property we're i don't have to wear it because I am getting in and out every 10 to 15 seconds is a pain L0L

Yes it is, if while working with it in my pocket and I lean up against the trailer. I shouldn't have to carry the key either this model as I haven't had to with my other two Bronco Sports. Tks

I can try a few different scenarios to see if I can replicate your issue. I have my doors set to not unlock on parking/turning off. I also leave my windows down in the garage (where I tested), but up when away. I'm sure there's a common setting/condition we're missing here. Just waiting for the "D'oh!".

Mine is out in the elements so leaving a window open is not practical. I've searched high and low in the screen and I cannot find a setting anywhere that will fix this issue. Tks

My 2021 & 2023 never would lock if I left the key inside.

Mine wouldn't either but this 2026 does. Maybe it is a hidden setting that the insurance companies wished to have do they Bronco Sports don't get stolen. Who knows...
