Hi all!
I had a '23 OBX but didn't like the 1.5L 3 cyl. So I sold it. I have some interest in a' 25 Badlands.
Back when I had the OBX, the 1.5L's were having some issues. There were some 2.0L issues but less than the 1.5L. How has the
2.OL been? Also, what has Ford deleted from that of the '23 model?

You’ll be happiest with the 2025 Bronco Sport Badlands with the tech package and Sasquatch plus the usual stuff like cargo mat, cargo management system, etc.

it’ll come with the rock solid 2.0L MPC Engine (which is different from the rock solid 2.0L Engine in ‘21-‘24 Badlands).
Don’t worry about de-contenting - it’s minor.

What happened with the ‘24 Honda Passport Trailsport you bought Aug 2024?

You can't compare the engines in the 25 model to previous years. The engine has been updated. Also at least according to the 25 order guide only the Badlands comes standard with a full size spare tire. All the other trims come standard with a tire inflator. I believe that the full size spare is available on lower trims as part of the towing package. The spare does not seem to be available as an option on it's own. I would definitely verify the spare tire before buying.

Carvana has the Passport. I'm looking at the new design of the passport, too. The '24 BS has some good discounting and loan rates but the '25 has Sync4 and now you say a bit different 2.0L. If I had the 2.0L in the OBX I had, I'd still have it.
I'll add all the deleted stuff like the under hood weatherstrip, hood insulator, lower dash panel under the glove compartment etc. I did all that in my '23.
I'm disappointed Ford dropped silver. I love silver with black wheels. No silver for the new Passport either.

I put a full size are in my '23. The updated 2.0L engine better? I get a bit nervous with new engines. No offense, especially with Ford and their recalls and issues.

I can't say the new engines are better. I had a 23 Escape for about 6 months that had the new 2.0L engine. As far as I know the transmission is still the same. I didn't have a problem with the engine but what ever Ford did to the auto start/stop function caused the transmission to clunk as it reengaged after taking my foot off the brake. It also caused a delay in reengaging that was severe enough for Ford to buy back the Escape. I do not know if this issue was only related to the Escape or the combination of the new engine and transmission. My 24 BS auto start/stop works seamlessly.

I am also nervous about new engines, transmissions, etc. Unfortunately it could take a few years for issues to crop up. I wouldn't buy any new vehicle without getting the manufacturer extended warranty. At least with Ford vehicles there are a few Ford dealers that sell them online for a price that the local dealer cannot or will not match.

I always turn off the stop/start. I had the 2.0l in a '19 MKC and it was trouble free and not one warranty issue with that Lincoln. Though I only kept it for 16K miles.
There doesn't seem to be great deals on a '25. Just employee pricing which is a gimmick at least on the F-150. Bigger discounts before employee pricing. Also, no good finance deals lower than 5.9%.
The '24's of course have bigger discounts and low financing but I prefer a '25.
I don't go off road and the thing I don't like about the '25 is that front silver trim but not a deal breaker.

@rocks search for MPC on this Forum to find the known info on the 1.5L and 2L engines in the 2025 Bronco Sport (which the MPC engines have been used on earlier Ford vehicles). It’ll take years to know if these MPC engines have issues.

For the 2025s, it is trivial to install the 12V battery due to the layout for the MPC engines.

I know it is personal taste but I prefer my 24 over the 25. After my experience with the 23 Escape I am happy to have the prior version engine since we don't know what might pop up in the future. I also do not like the silver trim but would not be a deal breaker for me either. I am also happy with the sync 3 over the sync 4. Just prefer having the buttons.

Yeah I like dials versus the digital screen too. So I'll look for a 24 I'm at the dealer now. That silver crap is on the back too which is now a turn off.

2024 43180 MSRP and 5k off. Low financing. Might work.

Is that a 2024 Badlands?

You never liked the 1.5L
Yes
Correct except I hated the 1.5 and never trusted it.
