Hi everyone, me again... sorry... haha

I’ve been going through previous posts but couldn’t find a clear answer on this, so apologies if it has already been discussed.

I want to clarify first that I fully understand the difference between:
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC): maintains speed and adjusts based on traffic
  • Speed Limiter (Adjustable Speed Limiting): allows manual throttle input but prevents exceeding a set speed
I also understand the advantages of ACC, and I do use it. However, for my use case, I’m specifically interested in having a true speed limiter, where the vehicle does not exceed a defined speed regardless of throttle input.

From what I’ve seen so far:
  • The Bronco Sport seems to rely on ACC + speed sign recognition
  • There are warning systems and tolerance settings, but not an actual limiter
  • In some Ford platforms, features like ASL (Adjustable Speed Limiter) or ISA (Intelligent Speed Assistance) exist at module level
So my question is:
Has anyone successfully enabled a real speed limiter on the Bronco Sport?

More specifically:
  • Is there any confirmed Forscan configuration that activates it?
  • Is the function present but disabled, or simply not supported by the hardware/software in this model?
  • Has anyone seen this working via retrofit, coding, or even aftermarket solutions?
I’m not looking for ACC alternatives—I’m specifically trying to achieve limiter behavior.
Any technical insight, module references, or real-world experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The ‘21-‘24 (probably’25-‘26 as well) have that feature using MyKey

As stated in the owners manual:

“MyKey allows you to program keys with restricted driving modes to promote good driving habits

Note: Not every feature applies to every vehicle in every market. When they are available for your vehicle, then they appear in the information display, providing choices to switch them on or off, or to select a more specific setting.

Various vehicle speed limits so the MyKey driver cannot exceed certain speeds. The information display shows warnings followed by an audible tone when the MyKey driver reaches the set speed. You cannot override the set speed by fully depressing the accelerator pedal“

Love this! I will look for "MyKey" at my User Manual.

And if you believe AI:

the MyKey system is supported on the 2025 and 2026 Ford Bronco Sport models (as well as ‘21-‘24). This feature allows you to program keys with restricted driving modes to promote good habits, such as setting maximum speed limits, audio volume restrictions, and early low-fuel warnings.

Key Information for 2025-2026 Models:

System Capabilities: The MyKey system in these model years includes a top speed limiter, audio volume limiter, early low fuel warning, programmable sound chimes, and Beltminder with audio mute.

Key Type: The 2025–2026 models use a new, advanced "Motion Sensing" 434 MHz proximity key.

Compatibility Warning: Keys from 2021–2024 models (which use a 902 MHz frequency) are not compatible with 2025–2026 models.

Note: MyKey is not available on the full-size Ford Bronco, only the Bronco Sport.

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

I’ve read about MyKey, but I have some doubts about whether it really fits what I’m looking for.
From what I understand, MyKey is more about assigning restrictions to a specific key (like a “driver profile”), meaning that if I set a max speed, that key would always be limited, I wouldn’t be able to exceed that speed at all while using it.

What I’m trying to achieve is slightly different:
I’m looking for something I can activate and deactivate on demand, depending on the driving context — for example:
  • enabling a limiter in the city or on certain roads
  • enabling another limiter on the highway
So more like a traditional driver-selectable speed limiter, not a permanent restriction tied to a specific key.

I am misunderstanding?
Do you (or anyone else) know if MyKey can be used in a more flexible way like that?
Or if there’s any workaround (Forscan or otherwise) to get closer to that behavior?

Thanks again.

There are some things you can look at with FORScan to achive your goal. I assume based on the tow hooks on your bumper that you have a 2025 on Sync 4. Check these settings in the IPC for ASLD and ISA:

You will also need to enable ISA and ASLD in the APIM:

I can't find anything in the SCCM, PSCM or IPMA related to ISA or ASL, so you can try enabling the features in the APIM and the animations in the IPC and then look through the driver assist settings to see if any new toggle switches popped up related to these features and check to make sure they are turned on or can be turned on.

If you don't get the desired result, just revert back to what is there now.

I pulled the config off of a random 2025 BS and it shows all these things are turned off, so maybe it will work. Only one way to find out.

MyKey is not very flexible … couple ways come to mind .. carry both keys, one programmed to a max speed and the other in an RFID pouch

Another way is to disable the MyKey programming and reprogram when not needed but that sounds painful

@Timon.Arg I also found this in the PCM. I think this has to do with MyKey. The random BS I pulled the config from shows a 1 there indicating no ASL or ISA. Not sure if it needs to be enabled here for the features to work or not, but worth noting, I think.

@rugedraw I would definitely love to better understand everything you've shown me in the images.
I'm going to research and learn more about the ForScan application so I can better interpret this kind of thing.
I'm incredibly grateful for this information; it feels very specific to what I asked, and my current training isn't enough for me to fully understand it.
I'm going to investigate.
I'm more than grateful to you.

Apologies for the somewhat vague response. I assumed you had some basic knowledge of FORScan already. Get yourself a FORScan cable and I can walk you through what needs to be done to see if those things can be enabled.

Nothing to apologize for, quite the opposite. Your response was very helpful and clearly dedicated, I really appreciate it.

I’m based in Argentina, so getting the cable locally is a bit difficult. I’ll probably end up buying one from Amazon US and shipping it here. Once I have it, I’ll be able to start digging into this in more detail.

Do you have any recommendation on which cable or module I should get for FORScan?

Thanks again for your help.

I've been using this one for years.
