Hi everyone,
I hope this is the right place to post! I spent about 30 minutes searching the forum for similar posts but couldn’t find anything helpful, so I thought I’d ask directly.
I have a 2023 Bronco Sport Outer Banks and, like most of us, got two key fobs from the dealer. Since I’m always traveling and don’t really have a secure place to store the spare, I usually carry both key fobs with me. I don’t feel comfortable leaving the spare with someone else, so I wanted a solution to keep one of the key fobs in the car without the car recognizing it, for security reasons.
To solve this, I removed the battery from the spare fob and left it in the car. It worked as planned until a strange warning light appeared on the dashboard. From what I can tell, it seems to be related to the car having trouble detecting one of the key fobs.
I put the battery back in the spare fob, hoping it would resolve the issue, but the warning light persists. It’s been a couple of weeks now, and both key fobs work perfectly fine otherwise.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any tips on how to clear the warning light? Thanks in advance for your help!
