I think you're right regarding his assertion that there port injection on the Dragon variant: there wasn't port injection until the MPC came along for 2025. Perhaps this is because he could only see the intake ports on the head, and everything else had been stripped off.Pretty much shows the Dragon 1.5L has a Chain type Timing Chain & not a belt , but if the Oil Pump Belt needs replacing , it looks like a very big job .
Has any one had to replace their Oil Pump belt yet ? I would say if it broke under power , the Engine would be toast .
also interesting that it has two forms of Injected Fuel , something I thought was just Direct injection with just three Injectors , now it looks like six .
I also got the recall letter about replacing them , of course not parts available yet .
The Engine in the Video was poorly maintained & probably had something to do with its needing replaced .
Yes, but the engine was stripped. All he had to work with were injectors. He never saw port injection, because there wasn't any. Again: the Dragon variant didn't have port injection: it was not available in the Bronco Sport until 2025 (or in the Escape until 2023) as a feature of the new MPC 1.5L. I have both in my family.around the 2:30 mi. mark , he says it has both .
Curious, I pulled up the specs for my '24 1.5L OBX and it clearly states Direct Injection and Port Fuel Injection. The 2.0 is Direct only.Yes, but the engine was stripped. All he had to work with were injectors. He never saw port injection, because there wasn't any. Up to 197 Horsepower and 214 lb.ft of torque where did that come from? 1.5 EB in the 2022 Bronco Sport Brochure 181 Horsepower and 190 lb.ft of Torque on Premium Fuel. Then there is this .

The 2021 Ford 1.5L EcoBoost "Dragon" engine is a turbocharged inline-three with a displacement of 1.5 liters, producing up to 197 horsepower and 214 lb-ft of torque. It features a dual overhead cam design, direct and port fuel injection, and is known for its efficiency and performance in vehicles like the Ford Escape and Focus.
What is new is that the 2.0L version of the MPC engine was designed with both direct and port fuel injection.I was wrong. You're all right! The 1.5L use of port injection apparently goes all the way back to 2017. There are YouTube videos out there that erroneously introduce the 1.5L MPC engine as first including port injection; perhaps that's where I jumped the track?
Yes. I had it in my head that this was also true in the 1.5L engine. I'm so ashamed...What is new is that the 2.0L version of the MPC engine was designed with both direct and port fuel injection.
