I got a 24' BS Badlands as my first car 2 years ago and I'm still trying to convince my friends it was worth it.

It was my gift for my 16th birthday (from my lovely grandmother), I picked it because it shone above the competition, and since then it's been the fastest car in my friend group, last summer I bought a wrecked Mustang only for my friend to blow it up, but the Bronco stays strong and very very quick. The same friend will constantly dog on the Bronco because he thinks it's stupid I was gifted such an expensive car. I let another buddy drive it yesterday and now he says he gets it, but the rest of them still poke fun in increasingly annoying and pedantic ways. Is this a unique experience or does anyone else experience the same thing?

Honestly, sounds like your friends are just jealous you have a new car and aren't driving a 20 year old beater like I was when I was 16-18 :).

You sound like a nice friend letting them drive it occasionally and ride around. If they aren't grateful for that, then I'd be letting them find their own way around. You're not obligated to be the taxi driver for everyone.

Sounds like you need new friends. šŸ˜‰

All joking aside, if you like it… why worry about what others think? It’s not their car, it’s not their money.

Be proud of what you’ve got. In the end, that’s what matters.

Honestly that's a good bit of advice, thank you man. I love my car and you're right, that's all that matters.

Guess it matters where you live, high school kids in the better neighborhoods get BMW's, WRX s, Toyota Tacoma's etc.
I mostly see younger women driving Bronco Sports even though I have one, then again the wife drives it much more than I do, my daughter likes to borrow it as well.

I’m full of advice.

Good… bad… depends on what it’s regarding.

This deserved some good advice. 😊

I love my Bronco… literally thousands of people on Facebook have liked it… my best friend… she hates what I’ve done to it. Hers has remained stock with the exception of a kayak rack…

She said mine looks like the ā€œtemu bronco sportā€ā€¦ which, to be honest, sucks to hear from someone I care so much about, but… at the end of the day, I love what I’ve done to it… and her opinion is just another opinion.

Don't worry about pleasing your friends. They are just busting your chops. They continue to do it since they see it bothers you.

In their opinion the Bronco Sport is a poor choice. Keep in mind opinions are like noses. Everyone has one and most of them smell.

Your Grandmother loves you enough to buy you a new car. Clean up your Bronco Sport and go see your Grandmother. Maybe take out to lunch if you can.

I’m glad I’m not a teenager any more :D

When your friends give you a hard time about the BS, ignore them. If you don’t react, they will grow bored and move on to talking about your bad music choices instead ;)

FYI those are not "friends". Walk away and don't look back. You will better yourself and they will learn a valuable lesson.. (Maybe not right away but they will learn.)

Never and I mean Never let your "Friends" drive your vehicle. If they want to see what it drives like they can go do a test drive at a dealership. That so called "friend" pay you for blowing up your Mustang? If he didn't offer anything then never speak to him again, you're being USED!

It’s good on my end. I’m almost 40, I’ve got a good amount of knowledge on good friends and not so… she’s a good friend. She just likes keeping her stuff factory looking. I don’t get offended by it too much. She’s also got clinically diagnosed borderline personality disorder, so, it’s hit or miss on if she’s gonna be nice or not.

Since you reside in Colorado your BSBL will be more practical & a lot more fun 8 months of the year than a Mustang. Taking your friends out in the snow & busting drifts ought to wake them up to your baby Bronco's cred.

Since you posted worrying about what others think, I will reply. First, you were gifted a new car, which is something many kids don't have the opportunity to get. So is it jealousy? Most likely since you are young. Secondly, you chose a vehicle that is safe, but is practical and still fun to drive. 3rd, is it expensive? That depends on the budget you were given. Lastly, if those friends were gifted a car, how would you treat them in this scenario? If you would treat them the same, then you have your answer. I don't recommend lending anyone your car that makes those remarks.

First, I love the vehicle. Looks nice and the blue looks great.

@Greenie¹

That said, someone on reddit said about my BS that I opened a catalog of stuff for the BS and bought it all. I simply said yeah. I wanted mountain scenes and big foot/sasquatch etchings because my BS is a Badlands Sasquatch and that was my theme. I'm not done with graphics.

Once I find someone to help design my final hood decal, I will get that made and installed. It will be the mountains I see every day (for the last 17 years) and will make the final graphic very personal.

It's your vehicle and you should make it to represent you. Sure - it may hurt your resale, however, I don't plan on selling. I do plan on enjoying it. Good luck!
