Yesterday I attempted to install the HRG mid skid, but ran into some issues and had to remove it for now.
I am not sure if something on the skid/rear bracket was out of spec. Or if between my BB, the skid and the bracket I ran into some extreme tolerance stacking, but I was left with about a 1/2" of space that I could not close up.
There is one screw added at the front end of the skid that is fastened to the subframe, 3 nuts are added to the skid with existing mounting points that are used by the OEM felt, and the rear of the skid requires a bracket that is slotted on both ends (see pics). I either needed a longer slot on the rear bracket allowing the bracket to slide into the skid further, or I needed the forward mounting hole more forward.
I will be away for a few days, but when I come back I plan on buying longer fasteners and washers to shim the gap. It should be good to go with the new hardware, but I was pretty annoyed yesterday. I feel like this mid skid is overpriced, but I did not want to mess with the install required of the JCR one.
