How to secure this piece

The center piece in this picture is loose and rattling. Does anybody have this same issue or a fix for the rattle. It does have some play in it but seems like it is snapped in. Also. If anybody knows the part number, that would be great too.
It is driving me nuts.

Sorry. The piece between the teach and the speedometer. (Just underneath). The almost rectangular one.

It should pull out straight towards you. I have had some luck getting rid of rattles on the rear hatch cover by simply putting a bit of electrical tape on the mounting tabs where it makes contact to the receiving peice, to make it a tighter fit.

What Tomas said. You can also get adhesive-backed felt. Stick it between two pieces of plastic to prevent touching.

Pulls up. I went out and popped it off. It’s lightly clipped in.

Couple dabs of pure silicone adhesive on the clips. Great for plumbing and many things around the house too.

Guy is correct pulls upward not towards you. I did mine also in some adhesive backed suede. Don't know if that's where a rattle was coming from. Most likely the tackform dash mount I have, but won't hurt.

Were you able to get rid of your rattle?

Thank You all again. Not to be a PITA but @Black Rob, how hard do you have to push up to get this off? I pushed up pretty hard but stopped thinking it would break. Do you have to push up really hard to get the piece off?

on mine it was easier top one side up then the other. you can see the tabs from underneath if your steering column is adjusted all the way down. firmly hold pull up and give it a wiggle

The whole piece or just the rectangular part under the instrument panel?

just the rectangular piece. it is attached to the drape cover for the steering column. so dont rip that off lol
