No, from everything I can find itsounds like it SHOULD be included in the Badlands even without the tech package.
I thought the same, so I passed on the tech package cause I did not care about the NAV or B&O Stereo. Unfortunately, Speed Sign Recognition and Intelligent Cruise Control are only included with the Tech Package as it is connected to the navigation system in the APIM.

Thanks! My Badlads has the Co-Pilot360 Assist 2.0 package but, Settings > Driver Assistance > Cruise Control does not include an option for Intelligent.
Again, from AI (and again, take it for what it is worth):

2. Connected Services / Navigation Is Not Active
Intelligent Cruise Control relies heavily on a combination of your front windshield camera and cloud-based map data to cross-reference speed limits.
  • If your vehicle’s FordPass Connect services are expired, or if the built-in Navigation is not fully activated/connected, SYNC will automatically hide the Intelligent/Speed Sign options because it cannot pull the required map speed data.

Rats!! I detest subscriptions so I guess I will just have to use the Waze/Maps alternative.

Thank you for all your help!

No AI here, real owner.... Has nothing to do with a subscription, very simple, if you do not have the Tech Package, you do not have these features.

I know how you feel, these are 2 features I use heavily in my Mustang. I even looked at replacing the APIM, to get the built in Nav for Intelligent Cruise Control and Speed Sign Recognition. It was going to cost about $1500... I got used to Google Maps

i have Traffic Sign Recognition "working" though it's far from reliable. in FORScan the option for TSR Mode includes a Camera Data Only option. Here's my notes about the 6 parameters in 3 modules i changed in ez mode (though i get no chimes on speed limit change):

IPMASpeed Limit Information Function (SLIF)
IPMASet Traffic Sign Recognition Mode to Camera Data Only (try Camera & Navi if available).
IPCTraffic Sign Recognition (TSR)
APIMMenu - Speed Limit
APIMChime for Speed Limit Change
APIMTraffic Sign Recognition

again, in camera data mode it's more of a novelty that works sometimes for me.

EDIT: forgot to mention - i don't have the onboard Navi / tech package, and it's working via the camera data.

I love it in my 2021 Miata RF, so I was really looking forward to having it in my Badlands. Waze is a good alternative but I forget to turn it on when I know how to get to my destination.

Thank you for the information! It sounds like I need to buy an OBD II adaptor and figure out how to use FORScan to try adding a couple features/changes I might like.

Thanks again,
Mike

I tried this earlier today on my 26 BSBB and ForScan didn't have ez mode for my IPMA. I checked the spreadsheet for the 26 Maverick and found 2 addresses that look promising. For the first address I've got a 0 and the second I have 2A.

Could anyone with TSR or someone who has enabled it with EZ mode check what their values are and report back please? I plan on testing it as well tomorrow but I'd like to know for sure before messing something up.

Alright Thank You! I'm about to test it out, I'll report back after if anything changes/works.

Update: It does show a limit sign on my speedometer now. Nothing in the driver assistance menu though. I can't test it until later though. I don't believe I have the tech package but I do have Copilot.

sounds like you have the core function working. overall the menu options are controlled by the APIM edits, so be sure you do that if you want them (it's not required tho from what i recall). FWIW i have the "Menu - Speed Limit" and "Chime for Speed Limit Change" turned on but neither work.

for reference my IPMA (706) values:

Yup same values I changed mine to. I enabled all of the changes you listed as well. After a few starts the menu finally showed up. It has worked fairly reliably and well so far. It misses a sign here and there but it sees most. The speed alert works for me but the chime doesn’t.

Thanks for the help!

excellent, glad it worked, happy to help.

I'll go in and see what i had the tolerance set for on the speed warning - maybe i just didn't have it set right and that's why i thought it didn't work...

I’m not sure what the tolerance was set at on mine but if I did a 1/4 mile over the speed limit it was flash at me. And again thank you lots 🙏!

MIne drives me nuts. I keeps picking up the 55 mph signs for truck and trailers and drops my speed down to that. It's really bad on Hwy 101 when I'm traveling to my kids home. Didn't realize I can switch off speed sign reading. Guess I'll do that today
