How to disconnect driver's side manual push/pull door lock?

I believe the push/pull lock is a mechanical lock so the software settings do not apply, but I may well be wrong!

Could you please try the following to see if your vehicle responds differently than mine?
1) If you don't have an external keypad, open your driver's side window so you can't lock yourself out.
2) Place your fob in the car.
3) Open the driver's door.
4) Press the push/pull lever into the flat/locked position.
5) Close the door.
6) Check if the push/pull lock is still flat.
7) Try to open the door without another fob on you or using the external keypad.

Could you please let me know if your vehicle unlocks the push/pull lock when you close the door?

the push/pull lock is a mechanical lock and several hours ago I deleted and modified several of my posts including the one you quoted - that specific post was incorrect so I deleted it (or modified it I don’t remember)

Earlier today I followed your listed steps before I saw them - the only difference is all of my doors unlock as described in the owners manual so when the drivers door was locked with the keyfob inside the vehicle, I had 3 other doors to get into the vehicle

And I have the external keypad, and Ford App on my phone so I could get in those ways as well which are unavailable in your case bc your 2025 doesn’t have the external keypad and your daughter locks her phone in the car

It’s a great lesson for your daughter and perhaps she will stop locking both her phone and keyfob in the vehicle. Or not.

Glad you figured out a solution and did not involve any cost

I'd say this is another fine example of ford software- allowing only the driver door to be locked. This ranks up there with turning on the LED headlight cooling fans when I open the rear hatch to get something. My favorite is chiming for all sorts of trivial things but being totally silent when I turn on the turn signal to change lanes into another vehicle and cause a real crash. Yes I know it's my fault and that a fingernail sized warning yellow light is flashing on my mirror

I too can't believe Ford's BLIS is one of the few things that doesn't have an audible warning. I loved that feature on the Miata ND RF GT I sold to get my BS. It prevented more than one accident. (I know some will say I should be a more attentive driver but it's hard to account for a non-signaling driver moving into the same lane I planned to move into. Luckily I use my blinkers and the audible warning alerted me in time to stay in my original lane.)

Not to take this too far off-topic, but I’d love to see Ford do something like my wife’s Kia does for BLIS… pics are posted in another thread here (link below). In a nutshell, when BLIS is triggered, a large image of her car appears in the center of the main screen with large bright red accents shown on the area of the car where another vehicle is detected.

Her Kia also displays the image from the car’s camera showing the view when a turn signal is activated.

I bought my 2025 BSBL 5 weeks ago. When my daughter parks on a steep hill the door slams shut and her purse, keys, and phone have already been locked inside on four occasions. She then needs to borrow a phone to have me unlock it via FordPass and she's really starting to hate the vehicle!

I'm sure it's related to the push/pull lock above the interior door handle (please see the attached photo), as mentioned at the end of the "Driver door randomly locks" thread. The lock is perfectly positioned to be activated when opening the door, so i can't blame her for getting locked out.

Could anyone provide any suggestions for disabling this lock without tearing the door apart? (Please don't suggest something like "she should take her purse with her when she gets out of the vehicle" as that would not be helpful.)

I parked to get some panda express, left my keys in my backpack and don't remember how the doors locked. I might have locked it on the door handle w/e. After eating my meal I walked back to my bronco and was locked out. I forgot my code on the door panel but i had my phone with the ford app. I was able to unlock the door with the app. Now I keep the keys in my pocket just in case.

it shouldn't have locked in the first place. there was a thread on here where we found the only way to lock the door with the keys inside is if you have the keypad for keyless entry. I have that and closing my doors with the keys in them after being locked wouldnt not lock the keys inside. so the question you should be asking ford is how this happened.

Well as said on the earlier thread, drive the vehicle so that all doors auto lock, park and turn the vehicle off, leave the keyfob inside the vehicle - open the drivers door and while it’s open, use the mechanism on the inside of drivers door to manually lock the vehicle, get out and close the door.

Drivers door will remain locked and if the setup option (on the sync screen) is set to lock all 4 doors) apparently all 4 doors will be locked with the keyfob inside but I didn’t try that last part

No I didn't use the keypad. I believe I touch the door handle to activate the lock/unlock. I'm just not sure exactly what occurred at that moment when I exited the vehicle. I don't remember.

most vehicles wont lock with the key inside ? sorry if I misunderstood the situation ? also it should have unlocked when you grabbed the handle ? This makes me want to do a test while second key is handy ( far enough away not to interfere )

^^This^^ makes sense. The key should be detected and the door should unlock.

It’s not that bad, even if you accidentally locked the drivers door into the manual lock position with keyfob inside the vehicle, you have multiple ways to enter

Enter using one of the 3 unlocked doors !
Use the Ford App on the phone
If equipped, use the external keypad

Seems to be a non issue?
