I have white spots all over the driver door interior door panel and a couple of spots on the passenger door panel. I have been told they are from skin oils. I have tried using water and Maguire's mild interior detailing solution but the stains always come back. I do not want to use something harsh that might damage the appearance of the door panel. I have asked Ford about it through the dealer but of course this is not a warranty issue.
Any suggestions on how to permanently remove the stains or is this something that will keep coming back?

These work great, removes the white and other markings with no harsh chemicals or alcohol

Multi purpose as you can see from the description 😉

I'm curious if this works for you. I'm having the same issues with some marks on my center arm rest. They're not spots, but more like straight line tape or decals that were on it before I bought the vehicle.

The wipes (Post #2) work great, minimal effort and removes the white marks and other markings. Not sure the wipes would take off tape marks or marks from decals.

I also occasionally use Chemical Guys Colorless and Odorless Leather Cleaner (SPI_208_16) but not sure that would work on tape marks or marks from decals.

Have some similar stains that I believe are due to some zinc based sun protection products. Annoying, but I have a Bronco Sport and get to spend time in the sun. Life is good.

Dude, Thank you for the suggestion. I can't quite use it yet because I have been trying to work with the dealer and the dealer wanted their detail department look at it. The detail department just applied a solution a couple of days ago that they use called Car Brite, that of course, like everything else I have tried so far looks like it worked when you wipe it on but has always comes back within a few days to a week or two. It is probably the same detail solution they used when the car was delivered so I do expect the white stains to return. I have wait and see how the Car Brite works before moving onto something else.

The product in Post #2 takes off the zinc based sun protection products for me.

That looks like the stains at hotels when they look around with a black light.

Kidding aside, try some isopropyl alcohol, it shouldn't damage anything, I would try it in an inconspicuous spot first to verify.

Griot’s Garage interior cleaner has worked great for me over the years. I haven’t seen those kinds of spots on my BS so I can’t say if it would work on your issue or not. But I have used it to get ink marks off leather seats in another vehicle.

Bronchette, tape and decal gum will come off with WD-40, as long as the material isn't porus.

I also tried a vinegar and water solution which is supposed to work on mold but the stains came back a few days later so probably not mold.

Thanks so much for the suggestion! However, there is no gum. In fact, it has no tactile feel. The dealership tried to tell me it was minute scratches in the surface. I find that hard to believe. First - I can't feel them, second - they're very 'ruler-straight' lines. Frankly, they look more like sewing marks from pencils/pens they use for patterns in leather. I'm going to try the suggestions folks have listed here to see what works. Again, thanks so much!!

Maybe the prior owner used a ruler and a pen and pressed too hard on whatever they were writing on
Is it possible you can post a pic of the area ?

Bought it new, but it still could have been done by the dealership. That's an excellent observation. Still trying to get photos. The lines have a metallic, silver sheen. Getting them in the right angle is proving to be difficult. That's a whole different story for another forum! LOL!

Have you thought about putting on a nice looking center arm rest cover?
