Spent a solid few hours cruising through GRSF over the weekend, and had a blast doing it! Thanks to the Rivian forum guys that I shamelessly stole my route from. Great mix of graded forest roads and a few tricky to navigate parts for a first timer. Even with just regular OB tires it cruised through it, great fun! Only additions are some JCROffroad front ending and bumper bash plates, and I was glad to have them. A few sections were pretty tight on clearance, and I whacked a rock pile on on approach. Plates shrugged it off no problem!

Nice lil mud puddles

Sitting pretty with the Kayaks, feeling like an @Ford Motor Company promo image

Mind the gap; hard to see on cam (damn I wish I had a front camera) but it required some careful tire placement!

Super pretty out there in GRSF

Last leg of the trip had a solid climb through some heavy washouts; spun the tires a tiny bit but the AWD figured itself out

Between the technical sections were lots of nice forest roads and tight switchbacks, great drive

Awesome - thanks for sharing! I’m not too far away and this looks like a blast. Would you mind sharing the route map and the JCROffroad product links you have? Thanks!

Thanks for sharing! Was just planning to head there this weekend - was there about 20 years ago in a Subaru (also with kayaks on the roof!) and it was great fun!

Sure! I’ve got in in onxoffroad; recreate in whatever software you’d like, having it up on screen is super nice since the trails branch all over. Map. There’s tags for the washed out areas and ā€˜water crossings’ the Rivian guys had on their map, which may or may not be deeper depending on time of year. They were basically nothing when I went.

I’ve got these two JCR plates and they’re pretty nice! Engine Skid, Bumper Skid

Two Malone Seawings (though they actually sent me MegaWings) that fit perfectly side by side, much easier to load and secure than J hook ones. I swapped out the straps for retractable ratchets, careful you don’t crush your kayak with them but it’s 1000% easier to get them strapped down/unstrapped this way.
