What a pain in the ass. Wired up the light harness the other night but ran out of daylight. Decided to mount the brackets today after work.
First of all, ordered from extreme offroad online. shipping was fast, but no instructions. Just got a box inside a box. I was concerned I was sent the wrong product even though photos looked correct. Called and actually got someone who spoke English. Unlike valkarie offroad who's phone number is no longer in service and doesn't respond to e mails.
Here is link for instructions from call representative if anyone needs. https://static.thiecommerce.com/assets/production/installation-instructions_GRH-732275T_pdf/6a0a383116593d8e32ecfcfef3a86130.pdf
Sends you to manufacturer site. It is what you would expect however in my case. The brackets were mis labeled. One has a D for driver side and the other a P for passenger side. Mine were labeled incorrectly. Also the holes for the hood studs weren't large enough. On top of that brackets needed some bending.
Start by taping edges of factory placement of hood brackets under hood. Paint will show but nice to have a second point of reference.
Take some more painters tape and tape the fender side near the hood and the hood area where your lights are going to avoid paint damage.
Mount them suckers.
Took way too long for 6 bolts. I would rate this a 3 beer job with 2 whiskeys, and more irritating and time consuming than a charge pipe swap, intercooler swap, or your basic oil change. About the same time as a 4 point brake job. Would've maybe been easier with a second body.
I needed:
-painters tape
-Drill with step bit
-Grinder with cutoff wheel (to cut bolts mounting light to hood bracket. I upgraded my mounting hardware)
-13mm (i think) socket wrench for hood bolts.
-vise to bend brackets
Here's some pics
