Front license plate install - 2026 FBS Badlands

How do I install the front license plate on my 2026 Ford Bronco Sport Badlands? I can't seem to find any specific instructions or videos. Am I drilling? Screwing? Am I undoing the existing bolts from metal front? Feel free to point me to a video. Thank you!

quick update: I bought a TP-40 bit, and was able to easily undo the 4 bolts. And install the plate bracket. You do need the proper bit. Thank you for ur responses.

On 2025-26, those bolts and others scattered around the exterior are for installing accessories, I don’t remember the name but are called something like accessory ready attachments (Bronco Bolts)

Looks like from your pic that the license plate bracket holes line up perfectly with those center 4 bolts so use those until you need to add some other accessory like a panel to hold lights etc

Thanks dude. It would kind of make sense to use those bolts from a placement perspective. But would those bolts "squash" the plastic? Should only be used on heavier/metal type accessories? Also, those bolts are painted, not the easiest to unscrew. Just asking, maybe ur right. Would be the most logical.

Or, live in a state that requires a front plate and ignore the law. None of the local police or other city vehicles run a front plate. Just a city emblem plate. I have yet to add it to the ’23 two door.

Mine came from a state which requires front plates. They took off the four bolts off that are in your front bumper photo, removed the plate, and put the bolts back in. Thirty second job.

Here’s a couple pictures. First one is the day before i took delivery. I know the dealer plate covers the bolts. However, in your photo, you can see in the plate bracket, there’s a recessed area for the bolts. Behind it sits flush to the bumper. You won’t be squashing anything. Promise.

I was dealer traded from Green Bay to here. I took that first picture an hour after it arrived at the dealer. They hadn’t had time to clean it yet at that point. But yes… very much the UP

Here's a picture of mind the day I bought it. I zoomed in on the front bumper so you can see the plate holder was installed before the license plates on there. So yeah those four bolts lying right up perfect.

That's where it goes. It won't "squash," the plastic. The bolt and waster fit so that they are putting pressure on flat plastic.

This is what's tricky. They aren't Torx bolts. They are Torx Plus. The Torx Plus is a little stronger and has a better fit so it's less likely to slip out. You can use a regular Torx bit but it's a lot more likely to slip.
