Companies would not offer these plans unless they were able to make money on them, so overall, consumers are not getting value from it. It's like a casino -- the house is going to win over the long haul, so you're just playing unfavorable odds. This looks like a great deal. Anyone willing to share reasons NOT to get the ESP? Certainly not trying to derail anything here, just figure if we're all presented with the full picture we can make a more informed choice.
Mine is still "in transit" with a scheduled delivery between 6/13-19. I had a dream the other night where it came in on the 10th. Yes, I know it's sad that I had a dream about the arrival of my vehicle.
However, if the cost is something you can afford, a lot of people consider it money well spent for peace of mind. And some folks are going to "win" and have the plan pay off for them.
I'm strongly considering it myself since for me, it's really not that much money and one less thing to have to worry about. I just have to be OK with the possibility of never needing to use it. Of course, I've had phone insurance for a couple of years now and thought that was a ripoff, then I smashed my phone last week and got a replacement for 1/5 the cost of a new one
(There's also the issue of the exceptions and loopholes coming back to bite you in the butt, but I think the Ford plans have a good reputation for covering a lot.)
