Ford+ Alexa problems

I am having trouble getting Alexa to stay working. After much fiddling around I can get it to work sometimes, and it keeps working for that particular trip, but if I shut the BS off, I cant get Ford+Alexa to work again.
Is there anybody else experiencing these problems? Am I doing something wrong?

Since my phone is connected to Sync 3 by bluetooth, and Alexa comes from my phone, how does wifi enter into this? Where would wifi come from while driving down the road?
