I am having so much fun with my Bronco Sport!

Looking to step past the usual mods on my 1.5L 3-cylinder. I already have the aFe Power Momentum GT cold air intake installed and I am running a custom 93-octane performance tune from 5 Star Tuning that accommodates the CAI. The vehicle pulls hard out of the gate, and often does so for several pulls, but the data logs show a major issue: heat soak. Once that tiny factory intercooler gets saturated after about 5 stop lights, charge air temperatures skyrocket, the ECU pulls timing, and power drops.

I am somewhat stuck with this vehicle, as we also have an Edge ST 2.7, Nissan Armada, and a F250. My wife is like "no more vehicles, I do not care if we do not have a hot hatchback" so here I am!

The factory cooling setup is officially my next bottleneck, and the platform is begging for a long, low, transverse-optimized front mount to fix it. Short of just taking off the lower fascia and running it like an old Eclipse GSX, what have y'all done?

The aftermarket options for the Mk8 Fiesta ST look like a solid baseline and some of those look like they could almost be a direct fit. Otherwise, I am looking at using a universal Mishimoto Z-Line core (28" x 7.5" x 2.5"). The entry and exit configurations on this core point straight out toward the wheels at 90 degrees, aligning with the stock charge pipe geometry.

I know I'll have to have a shop fabricate custom 2.5-inch aluminum charge pipes to adapt to the factory diameter, drop the under-trays, remove the front bumper cover, and more.

Has anyone here successfully adapted a universal cross-flow core or a custom-fabbed bracket setup to the 1.5L chassis? If you've run into clearance issues with the factory crash bar width, radiator spacing (this is my biggest concern), I'd highly appreciate the insight.

I’m curious as to performance hp/torque and 0-60 of the preheat soaked engine.
