Even after the BS is sitting for a while with the hood open., when you close the hood, you hear a couple of electric component noise clicking. Very weird.

Yeah I noticed the same sort of thing when I was installing, then uninstalling some vinyl letters on the grille. Even without the dongle with me, just messing around in the area of the vehicle, every so often there'd be little electrical sounds, like I triggered some sensors somewhere.

Ford might need to release a software update one of thee days to allow for a "battery saver" mode, where it's not constantly aware of, and reacting to, everything all the time.

If you wait long enough (14 days) the Sport will go into Deep Sleep Mode and all of those sounds will go away as it will shut off all electrical function. Apparently, absent that, it is never really "off" completely. It can also go into Deep Sleep Mode if it gets too cold outside or the battery voltage gets too low. No way I know of to turn it off or on manually (unless there is a way in Forscan).

I wonder if the BS goes into sleep mode after 14 days when a battery maintainer keeps the battery fully charged. I guess I'll find out sooner or later because my BS sits a lot.

Yeah it’s weird.

for the first year of ownership, mine would go into deep sleep mode every few days. Lately over the last few months, it’s stopped. I even left it at the airport for several days. Nada.

I would be in the garage messing around, no fob, not touching the vehicle and I would hear the thing buzzing and clicking. Don’t forget the humming (headlight assembly cooling fans)! Crazy. What could go wrong

I’m guessing that the “dongle” is the key fob? If so, that is weird. I’ve not worked under the hood that much yet. I do know that I’m not fond of my key fob constantly unlocking/ locking the doors. I always leave wondering whether or not the vehicle is actually locked.

I’ve heard similar noises with other rented vehicles as well as the Bronco.
I think it’s just the way vehicles are these days….full of electronic bells and whistles just waiting to malfunction lol

Most likely sleep mode is activated by voltage below a certain threshold -- so a maintainer would prevent that from happening.

The concern -- for those who do not use a maintainer -- is that even if sleep mode is properly activated, the battery must reach some state of charge (SOC) significantly below 100% before that happens. All lead-acid batteries -- FLA; EFB; AGM -- should be kept at 100% SOC as much as possible for the longest life.

Allowing the battery to partially discharge before going into sleep mode shortens it's life.

Ideally, the BS would have a separate lithium battery for all of those systems that remain in operation after it's turned off.

My Escape Hybrid makes similar sounds when the door is opened. I understand that it is some kind of pump that pressurizes the brakes. The sounds on my BS sounded similar so I thought that Ford was using a similar system on the BS.

I'm more interested in that weird, slight mechanical sound that happens a split second before the vehicle turns over. Doesn't quite sound like a fuel pump priming

You mean like a scraping sound?
Man, I can't even begin to describe it. Scraping might be accurate, but it also has a slight deeper tone that almost sounds like an air tank being pressurized. It's a very peculiar sound, but I have seen a few other comments about it in prior threads. If I start it after it has sat for a while and keep the door open, I can usually hear it pretty well.

I was thinking about trying to get a video of it, but it is so cold that I have just been using Remote Start before going outside lately.

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Bronco concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.
