I have a 2022 Big Bend on order and my window sticker lists "FordPass Connect 4GWi-Fi Hotspot Telematics Modem" in the Functional Standard equipment, but in the Optional Equipment/Other section, it says "4G LTE WiFi Hotspot Removal" for a $20 credit. My dealer says this is due to the chip shortage. I don't care so much about not being able to create a hotspot in my car to connect devices to, but am I losing FordPass Connect features because of this? I was looking forward to the remote start and lock/unlock features. Also, does this affect Sync updates or anything else? Finally, is this a chip that can be easily added at a later time? Thanks all!

It won’t affect your FordPass Connect. You just can’t get a wireless data plan for your BS. It cannot be added later from what I understand. Maybe I’m wrong. Sync updates are from from your wifi at home when you’re parked there or you can use a USB.
