I got a Big Bend BS that I’m really enjoying. The dealer called me to say an outer banks is coming and it has all the bells and whistles except sunroof. They offered to buy mine at cost (including tax and title) but they also suggested I check Carmax, Carvana, etc as they are offering silly prices. They were right as Carmax offered me $5000 more.

Crazy times!

My 2021 Big Bend was $29,200 ($500 rebate and another $700 off from dealer). I put $800 in add ons. I had just hit 1000 miles when Carmax offered $36,000.
Heck yeah. I'm hoping this continues by the time Ford gets around to building mine. Heck, I may sell mine now, and drive a beater for a bit. That's nuts.

Agree that it is nuts. My 2022 Outer Banks is supposed to be here tomorrow. ?

I wonder if the recalls, and dealers not being able to sell BS's will make re-sale values even higher?

It’s all supply and demand. Same issue with houses. Low inventory, high prices. Not bad when you are selling!

Before you sell check to see if you can order a 22. I read Ford has ceased to take anymore BS orders until 2023! Very crazy times.

I don't know the rhyme or reason on some of these trade-in/used car values. This one baffles me:

Here is a 21 Outer Banks with leather, no NAV, towing, etc ... going for $47k in Tennessee. https://www.carmax.com/car/21462439

Then there is a 21 Badlands going for 'only' $44k. Granted it has no leather, it does have the towing packing also in Tennessee.

When it comes to the average used car buyer I guess leather holds more value than the 2.0L engine.

Has anyone tried to sell a ‘22 BS?
My Carmax quote I pray is a miss type. They quoted me way below MSRP!

Too new and not enough auction and resale data.

I believe you are correct. Carvana quote validated Carmax’s, wasn’t quite as bad.
