For the purposes of attaching a bike rack or just about anything to the hitch...how can I silence/disable the backup beep?

From the manual:
Note: When you connect a trailer to your
vehicle, the rear parking aid may detect the
trailer and therefore provide an alert. Disable
the rear parking aid when you connect a
trailer to prevent the alert.
The sensing system warns you of obstacles
within a certain range of your vehicle. The
system turns on when you switch the
ignition on.
You can switch the system off through the
information display menu or from the
pop-up message that appears once you
shift the transmission into reverse (R). See
General Information (page 98). If your
vehicle has a parking aid button, you can
switch the system off by pressing the
button. The system turns on when you
switch the ignition on.

Wondering if there is a way to do this too. It can be turned off temporarily, but doesn’t seem like it can be turned off permanently. Haven’t found a way to do this with ForScan yet either.

From the touch screen under Settings -> Driver Assistance -> both Park Aid and Rear Cross-traffic alerts can be disabled.

I use the dash pop-up to temporarily disable alerts (by pressing OK on the steering wheel) when backing into my garage.
