Not sure why dealership is telling me it's not covered under warranty, I found items on the website covered under powertrain warranty. 2021 big bend with 53k miles, warranty expires in 2 months. Never have taken it off roading, no specific instance of hitting anything as well.

What did the dealer say when you pointed this out to them?

What did the dealer say when you pointed this out to them?

So the rep I talked to says the part he's pulling up in the portal states it's not covered N1MZ-3A329-A which appears to be the intermediate shaft, which per his words "CV axle was leaking and getting oil all over it" no specifics on why they thought it was leaking, he did state it appeared that it didn't take any impact. So they want to charge me for a full CV axle replacement because it got compromised from this wear and tear part leaking onto it?

I am calling around getting some quotes from local repair shops I've used in the past

Could you maybe added a lift or oversize shoes? They might try to deny it if you modded something and they say that is the cause. Or the dealership doesn't want to get paid warranty rate for something they think takes more shop time- could go to a different dealer and see what their tech says.

Its always difficult to figure things out in an internet forum. In your other thread the dealer wants to replace the halfshaft which isn't a part specifically called out by the powertrain warrany. If complete cv axle replacement was called for it would likely be covered by the powertrain warranty, Ford is tricky that way.
The 2022 Maverick has had problems with the halfshaft, Ford has a CSP program for the Maverick and they also extended the warranty to 150k miles. As already mentioned, I would contact Ford corporate or have the service writer do so on your behalf to see what they say.
The cost for Motorcraft complete CV axles is somewhere around $200 dollars, obviously a dealer doing the repair will charge full retail. If Ford won't do anything I'd check what an independent would charge considering your warranty is about over.
Is the dealer charging you a diagnostic charge for there diagnosis? in most cases that's a couple of hundred bucks on it's own, more motivation to contact Ford.

Yes it does have aftermarket suspension and bigger tires so I'm going to assume with that they will deny regardless. I did escelate to service manager for now but if they hold out I have contacted an ind shop down the road who will do it for way cheaper.

N1MZ-3A329-A is not a Bronco Sport part...not surprising the portal says it isn't covered.

dealership is checking with corporate to do a "financial assist" to allow warranty to cover the work, not that I can't pay for it I just don't want too lol. So we will await to see what they say
In your case the warranty can be denied because they will be able to prove the lift changed the angle the the CV axles and that is what caused the premature seal failure. The bigger problem is this WILL happen again unless you remove the lift and return to stock ride height.

I had similar issues with my dealer. I contacted Ford Corporate and made complaint. They contacted dealer to resolve the issue. I was still under warranty coverage. They will try to avoid warranty work because it pays them less than them generating regular repair costs. Not our problem!

I'm a retired dealer service manager. They cannot say a lift or other mods caused the problem. The manufacturer would have to test every scenario to be able to prove it was caused by a mod. Easier for them to pay the claim.
