What kind of surface are you driving on? It’s hard to tell on the phone. Dirt? Gravel? Sand?

It's volcanic cinder. Black rock basically.
Couple things about volcanic cinder. One, it’s extremely abrasive, and will shred or wear surfaces like crazy. Metal, fabric, rubber/vinyl, all get worn at a higher rate than from most other materials.

Second, it’s a great soil amendment. A number of herbs & veggies take on some great flavors from it. I had garlic from a small plot in Italy near Mt Vesuvius and it was heavenly. You could eat it raw. The olives, tomatoes, and other things grown there are amazing.
