Got me a nice Bronco Sport Big Bend and need to install a trailer hitch on the back for a cross country move. Their website lists a lot of options that frankly I know nothing about. Never installed a hitch before nor hitched anything on the back for that matter. Will be using it first for a cross country move and then after that probably will use it for a bike rack.

What would be your recommendations for hitch and ball mount types? Just go with the default options since I won't be a heavy user with the hitch?

It looks like you will need everything in their list except I wouldn't get the drop down ball mount as I find a straight ball mount works fine on my BS. I thought U-Haul trailers took a smaller ball so you may want to get that once you know what size is needed.

For a bike rack you need the hitch only.
For a trailer you need all that. Like magicbus said, I'd skip the ball mount and ball for now. You can grab those locally at several places.
