Ford Bronco Sport Built out for biking, hiking and camping adventures. 1000001150

I do a lot of biking, MTB, gravel riding, road riding, wife cruises on her e bike. But over the years it's been built out to be a great little adventure vehicle.

-2021 BS BB
-Method 314 wheels 245/65
-Toyo Open Country At3
-1in wheel spacers
-Rhino rack pioneer platform
-Roam 83 rugged case w/ rugged mounts
-Waterport Day Tank
-Kuat Piston Pro X
-Kuat Piston SR
-Miniature Australian Shepherd

Thing has been an amazing vehicle, I've had no issues. I did replace the battery quite a while ago before the recall, added a much beefier one and it's been issue free. 45k miles.

Have not got to do much camping this year. Wife is a busy runner with races each month and I dabble in some gravel racing.

I'd love to get some better pics with a proper camera in some proper settings some day.

Impressive setup, glad you are getting use out of the vehicle. What is a water port day tank?

Thanks. It's a 4 gallon water tank you can pressurize. Use it to clean bikes or for camping showers, cooking, cleaning. Use it to clean the wheels on the bronco quite often too.

I think the Aussie is the best accessory. I love taking my Spaniel on adventures.

Oh yeah, she loves adventures, she's a great companion and loves running trails with me.

In hot weather camping, a shower is definitely a luxury. I carry a 20 Amp Hour lithium battery for lights, and bought a small diaphragm pump and shower hose. I just drop the suction tube of my pump into a water jug and turn on the pump. I have a black plastic military style water jug. Leaving the jug in the sun makes for a hot shower after a day of sweating.

For desert camping in the summer, I found lights attract bugs from miles away. We had a lantern set up over our stove and ended up with multiple moths dropping into the frying pan. I now have a 10' telescoping pole with a spotlight inside a cone reflector. With the light up high and the light going straight down, the bug problem is gone, or at least above our heads.

What size Rhino Rack did you go with? I assume you don't have a sunroof? And di you use RX100 legs? Wind noise with a blank rack?

I went with the 49x59. Yes rx100 legs. Some drilling into the rack is required to install the legs, it was very easy though. Wind noise is extremely minimal, tbh I don't notice any when rack is empty.

Sweet setup. I do similar activities and have been building mine up similarly as well. Just upgraded the hitch rack to a 1up HD and looking at a swing arm to reach the hatch.

I've been debating a platform. I currently have crossbars and use it for a canoe but looking to see if a grid would be more versatile. What do you keep in the case? And does it stay up there all the time?

Do you use a crate for the Aussie? I have a pup around the same size.

What other upgrades are you thinking about?

Thanks for sharing.
