Bug guard or don’t bug gaurd.

I was going to get the Aeroskin ll for my 26 badlands, but after seeing some videos of the potential damage that can occur to the paint underneath, I decided against it. Though I think it is the best looking bug guard out there

Hi dude mine are
The 2 lower ones ar 3 and 3/8 from the bottom plate
The 2 upper ones in the hood are 13/16 ths from the hood in the front

I just took it for a little five mile cruise… got it to 70mph, which is where I usually notice it start the worst at, and so far, it appears to be better.

I had to raise my grille bumps up about 1/2” and decrease the distance the hood bumps protruded by about 3/8”. I’ll see how it goes next road trip, and adjust accordingly.

I’m assuming you have a bug guard on your Bronco as well? Have you added the fuel line into the rear weatherstripping , that made a big difference in mine , I just picked some up off amazon for like 11 bucks or so .. I’m thinking as I adjusted mine top and bottom in the front my goal was always to keep the gap across the front grill the same , meaning if ya lower the bottoms extend the tops , or visa versa , not adjust on;top or bottoms but all 4 at same time and measure the adjustment so it’s equal… good luck dude …

I’m assuming you have a bug guard on your Bronco as well? Yep had that all done for a long while now. Got the fuel line from work… added the side weatherstripping, and added the hood struts. All of which were stated to help with the shakiness. I think from here, it’s fine tuning the hood bumps.

The hood struts are a worthwhile investment, I did them when I did the bug guard and molding updates, was not a fan of the stock metal rod that held up the hood when open.

I bought the aeroskin off eBay, put it on last fall. It’s a Ford part. On my to Florida from Texas, at around 1am, the left side of the guard detached and was flailing in the wind. I pulled over, reattached it, and about a hour later about 1/2 of it peeled off. I stopped and pulled the whole thing off. Removing the tape was a chore. I plan to re tape it and put it back on. There was no damage to the paint after 10 months on the Sport. Ford did send me a note to bring it in to have the tape reapplied.

I bought the Ford version, which I think is the same an Aeroskin II (?). I mostly did it in an attempt to minimize bugs/chips on the hood and windshield. Normally, I don't prefer the look of these, but this one actually blends in nicely with the front grille. The color is spot on and the lines blend in nicely with the shape of the grille, almost like it came from the factory that way (at quick glance).

I installed it myself, and followed the instructions religiously, including the alcohol wipe and the pre-tape primer. I haven't had any issues with anything coming off. I dread the day I have to remove it (I hope I sell it still installed!) because I have a feeling that tape is going to be a bear to remove.

If needed, wait until a very warm sunny day, it’ll soften the bond.
