Tangental to the thread about your favourite Bronco Sport colour.

Since the beginning the Bronco Sport Big Bend comes standard with a body-colour roof. With the windows and blacked out frames it creates a floating roof effect. I really like this look on the Bronco Sport.

Now one of the reasons I chose the Big Bend is because in the 2024 model year all the other trim levels have blacked out roofs. There is no option for a body-colour roof as there were in earlier model years. There was one model year (2023?) where the Badlands had a grey-colour option for the roof. I was disappointed by this lack of choice as I think the body-colour roof looks more finished, more complete. Yeah, it’s subjective and your mileage may vary.

I don’t regret getting my Big Bend—I really like it. But if the Outer Banks or Badlands had a body-colour roof option (along with the body-colour door handles) I would have seriously considered stepping up to those models.

I might also be one of the few not excited by everything being blacked out, particularly wheels—I cannot stand black wheels. Makes the vehicle look like it still has its winter wheels and tires on even in nice weather.

Thoughts? Preferences?

Since these are in “the Bronco family” wish they’d allow choice of white/black/body color roof on all orders. Maybe make white or black roof standard and add a SMALL mark up for the other choices. As I recall, when I ordered my ’21 black was standard and carbonized gray was optional on my BL. and since I ordered carbonized gray w/gray roof I got body color (the order site showed the roof a different shade than the body, but came out the same in reality).

This. Sounds fair.

Choices are limited to keep costs down.

Then an option could be to have either the Outer Banks or the Badlands with a body-colour roof standard as well as the entry level Big Bend. Given the Outer Banks seems to be the model with the premium packaging of features then that with a body-colour roof and door handles and 18in. wheels could be a way to go.

I never liked the body color roof, that's why I bought the loaded model instead of the big bend. but I would have no objection to have it as a option on ordered vehicles. personally I would rather the pillars and roof be the same color like in the heritage line but that's just me

I still say black and blue is a classy combination.

For sure. But some would like an option for the other trim levels. Like I said initially I, for one, would have more seriously considered an Outer Banks or Badlands if I could have had them with a body-colour roof.

Now I would say that an "entry level" vehicle today is nothing like it once once ages ago. My Big Bend with the Convenience Package and 18in. wheels gave me a vehicle little from an Outer Banks except the OB would have given me leather interior and body-colour door handles and a few other small features that allude me. But much of the rest, particularly the mechanicals, is pretty much the same. So why pay extra for something with little great difference and missing something I actually prefer? The leather and body-colour door handles would have been nice, but they weren't "must haves."

You mean leather like interior? I remember when fake leather seats (vinyl) were considered a base option over cloth seats!

If you look at the '25 Explorer, it is almost $5k to add a black roof over the body colored standard option.

I think the black roof looks great on my daughters new Big Bend with the black package.

So flip the option around. Make it standard with a black roof and charge extra for a body-colour roof.

its a little more than the convenience package and 18" tires, well a lot more actually, to turn a big bend into an outer banks.. but ya if you don't need a lot of the little "extras" like the passenger power seat, the upgraded stereo and heated steering wheel and dual zone climate control and a bunch more options why spend the extra, I went that way only because I spend 2 hours of my workday in the car driving to work and back so I wanted the comfort stuff, and when we go on longer trips with out the rv we use the BS so I wanted the wife to have all those comforts also. I would have happily picked a big bend if they had one with the fog lights in stock when I bought mine, as 99% of them sold out here have some upgrades built into them, but it was the wife that noticed that the mixed leather/cloth seats in the OB felt wider, better shaped and way more comfortable than the cloth seats in the BB. Plus when I am working in the winter that heated steering wheel is a good send haha

I could see the black roof as standard with a body-colour or white roof as an option. White would go with the front and rear letters on the vehicle.
