Had a draft Shiner Bock at a BBQ place in the Valley today. Hadn't had one of those since my Continental days connecting through Houston a couple times a week. Forgot what a uncomplicated, satisfying beer it is.

@jkernitzki shinerbock is always a good refresher. I recently tried Montauk cold snacks. Those are tasty.

But tonight I made myself a "health inspired" cocktail. Went on carnivore for 1 month and lost 15 lbs. Back to bulking stage now. During that time no sugar = no alcohol, sugar of any kind. So I ditched my usual spindrift healthy sparkling waters for the San pallegrino essence sparking waters. Also different teas for flavored beverages, and one of my favorites is hibiscus tea.

This cocktail is as follows.

5 ice cubes in a frozen glass
1oz. homemade lemon cello/shine
4oz. Hendrick's gin
2oz. Hibiscus tea (unsweetened)
1oz. San pellegrino dark cherry pomegranate sparkling water. (Or your choice)
Dehydrated lemon wedge for garnish

It's simple, clean, little tart but followed by the sweet from the lemon cello, bit of floral from the gin, and a bright finish with the effervescence of the sparkling water complimented by the subtle aroma of the dehydrated lemon wheel on the nose.

@garthI wonder if I could find that in California? Never heard of it.

Wife was going to the store and I was going to go with her to get beer, she said just stay home and get cleaned up after work and she would get beer.

She loaded me up! Lol
Box says 1 of 3 in this can series, but it's actually 2 of 3. Looks very similar though to the first can I posted in another thread.

Its brewed in Nova Scotia, at least it used to be. Those giant beer companies brew all over the place these days and the beer quality suffers. Stella is pretty well off my list as are many others, I did enjoy a Golden Banquet brewed in Colorado I think and it was good but now they brew it by license up here and its off my list. They even brew Corona up here so I quit drinking that as well.
Kieths ipa has a different flavour than most, not very hoppy at all and it can be drank warm lol
It comes down to the water, Kokanee is brewed in BC and it has good beer making water.

Now as the weather gets warmer out comes one of my favourite warm weather beers.
A national treasure brewed at one brewery so you know its got to be good.

Happy Sunday everyone

I was squeezing some lemons before they go bad and decided to make another girly drink lol. I never had one until a few years ago, one of my wife's girlfriends requested a lemon drop. I've heard of it but never made one, so I looked it up and was like oh, it's just a vodka sour with cointreau.

So here is my not so girly version.
-Rim a frozen rocks glass with some lemon juice followed by mixed white granulated and raw brown sugar. Throw in some ice back in the freezer.
- garnish slice of lemon, Topped with remainder of sugar mixture and torch sugar. Let cool.

In shaker
- ice
- 2oz. Homemade lemon everclear tincture syrup
- 2oz simple syrup
- 6oz. Lemon juice
- 8oz. Grey goose
Shake and double strain into rocks glass, float flambé lemon wheel garnish on top.

Makes 2 servings

One of my favorite ciders, on tap (or more properly, draught) at the Cornish Pasty Co. The newest location is in downtown Glendale. If you've ever had Magner's, it's exactly the same (long story). Another fave is Strongbow.

Every mass-marketed American cider is kiddy juice, not suitable for an adult.

I was hesitant to post this here, but I will anyway.
About 2 months ago I started to see ads for “Pinter”, a home brewing process. They use a subscription model that is not too demanding.
I placed the order and made my first brew, A British amber ale, very tasty.
I am currently in the final stage of brewing Ancestors Bitter Ale.

The whole process was easy and yielded 12 pints of beer, I know Quashish has a little kegger and may not be for him, but it is satisfying.

That's awesome! I've seen that company as well just don't have the room. I've tried making mead once, not sure why it didn't turn out. I'm going to try again this year. Lots of blackberries.

But my co workers dad has a whole brew set up and distills also. I have a duff tap handle for when I male my own brew and have that in the kegerator

Enjoying a boulevardier tonight. It's a spin on a negroni with gin swapped for bourbon. I love me a negroni but bourbon is my first love far before I meet gin lol. I always make mine a little heavy on the gin/bourbon instead of equal parts, also expressed lemon peel instead of orange. Delicious

A couple pints of Magner's at The Cornish Pasty Company. Most highly recommend both the cider and the pasty's if you're in or visit AZ.
