My backup camera is great and works well during daylight, at night the glare from the plate lights seems to drown out image. If it’s raining and lens is wet it is even worse.
I use and rely on my mirrors for backing but since it’s there I’d like to use it lol.

Anyone elsehave this issue ? Any thoughts or ideas how to fix?

???.
Nice actually never thought of that. Seems like a simple enough try.

thanks I’ll give it try
not overly simple, couple of points,
this product should be considered as permanent, go with light coats
watch the over spray, remove the lights for painting if possible
read as many Amazon reviews as you can stand for tips

I saw your post a while back, but never noticed the glare until this last night. It' a poor design n fords part. Also I'm a bit disappointed the rear camera doesn't have a washer valve to clean the lens.

pretty sure the BL has a rear camera washer, don't know about the other models though.
your comment got me thinking that since there is washer fluid avail in the rear hatch it would be a simple matter to replace the camera to one with the washer nozzle and tee into the existing hose.

IIRC, later MY21 production runs on Big Bend include the washer. Mine missed the cut by a few weeks. Stands to reason later OB runs would include this too.

Well that's frustrating. I want an upgrade kit!

If this was in fact added in later production. I want to find the part numbers and order it.

My thought would be an electrical relay. When the back up lights turn on, the relay turns license plate lights out. You don't really need license plate lights when your backing.

This isn't a bad idea. Should be easy enough. I'll going to look up the wiring schematic.

Glare, water droplets and all I can still see plenty to back safely.
Do you need new glasses ?
