I have a 2022 Bronco Sport Big Bend, and I know a lot of people have experienced the same issue with the brakes making a terrible noise when backing up. I’ve read that some have had success getting it fixed through their dealer, but I’ve been to mine two or three times with no resolution. Has anyone found a reliable fix or have any advice on how to get the dealership to actually address it?”

Replace the pads with ceramic. No more moan. All the TSB "fixes" failed for me.

The most recent "fix" worked!

I went in yesterday and they said I already had the “pins” so there was nothing they could do about it.

Ceramic are a good choice for lower brake dust, and hopefully eliminating your moan issue.

Just be aware that they do slightly change the braking distances than metallic pads. If you tow (doubtful with a Bronco Sport that much), this lower braking capacity would be key in stopping distances towing.

I had the very latest TSB (updated just a few weeks ago with a new part) done on April 3. I’m super disappointed to report it hasn’t made much if any difference.

I’ll just have to wait until I need to replace the brakes and try the ceramic suggestion then. Until then, it’s wailing cows, sigh.

Look over your service receipt to see what parts were replaced under TSB 25-2051 and compare with the parts listed for that TSB

Quick question. I was just on the phone with Ford a few minutes ago and they told me this TSB expired back in 2023 and that I could no longer get this fixed. They also told me my vehicle wasn't eligible under the TSB, I told them I think they need to read it again as the TSB listed 21 - 25 BS, I have 21 BSBB. I also told them date on the TSB I had open right in front of me, directly from Ford's site is dated April 10, 2025. Has anyone recently had this TSB done on an earlier BS? Is it worth getting this done? Does it actually fixed the problem? My pads moan in reverse hot or cold, dry or humid...doesn't matter. Thanks.

It’s too early to know if TSB 25-2051 permanently fixes the issue … sometimes it takes just the right conditions for the noise to return

But unless you have an active Ford ESP (extended warranty) and the dealership concurs TSB 25-2051 will be paid for by that warranty, your out of pocket cost to pay for TSB 25-2051 likely is not worth it (in my opinion)

I had reported the problem before my regular warranty expired, and just as they were about to try the TSB that was active at that time, Ford issued a stop order. So I did have it on record as a pre-existing issue.

I was able to get the TSB before this current one done on my 2022 Badlands on April 3 and the dealer said they would cover it regardless. Only problem is … it didn’t work. When I left, it seemed like it was gone, but later that same day, I heard it coming back, and now it’s nearly as loud and frequent as it was.

I’ve emailed the service advisor to let him know and ask if the revised one they have now can be tried. No reply so far …
