Stage 1 in blacking out my Baby Bro. Very simple and minor enhancement in getting my blackout project started. Plasti dipped “Sport” to really bring emphasis to the BRONCO name. Blacked out the Ford emblem, because it’s aesthetically pleasing to my eyes!

Up next is blacked out window tinting!

Man those plastic dip letters look great!

Is plastic dip difficult to use? I would like to do the rear letters on my BS.

It's very easy. Mask off the area well as there will be overspray (which comes off pretty easy with car cleaners/rubbing alcohol). Clean all surfaces diligently. Use cotton swabs the get into the edges of the letters. Lay down several coats from several angles with about a half hour between each coat. I think I did 5-6. Then peel away the masking and dried plastidip between the letters. It will tear along the gaps between the letters and the car itself. You may need to use some toothpicks to pull it away from the smaller letters and the insides of the larger ones. Just take your time. Lots of videos on youtube if you want to see the process.

Hope this helps.

Looks much better now. How many coats did you apply?
I applied 5 coats. First spray is super light in spurts just to coat enough for the next coat. Light coats each time so that it doesn't pool or clump. I would let it dry at minimum 15 to 30 min in between. Used a toothpick to get to the hard to peel areas between letters or within a letter. Just make sure you take the time to tape all around to avoid over sprays and subsequent cleanup.

Not difficult to use. I would recommend Hyperdip from dipyourcar.com tho. Much smoother finish, higher quality, longer lasting. Take a look at these pictures so you can compare the difference. I originally did my pony badge in plastidip, but then discovered the superior Hyperdip. Buy the emblem package. Has everything you need.

Great job with the masking and painting. I gotta say, it looks like a Bronco instead of a Bronco Sport (when doing the black on black). You only need the spare tire carrier, and you'd have a decent clone from the back end side.

Looks great.
