Apple just announced official release of CarPlay Ultra

MacRumors mentioned Ford is on board, but which models and when?

All '25 BS trim levels have the digital cluster and 13.2 inch center console touch screen.

CarPlay Ultra can be ordered today today on 2025 Aston Martins in the US and Canada and Apple says Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis have now signed up in addition to already announced partners including Acura, Audi, Ford, Honda, Infiniti, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Polestar, Porsche, Renault, and Volvo.

Sync 4 isn’t even the latest or best Ford has. Ford Digital Experience is and only a couple 2025 models have it.

I don’t see this coming to any Sync 4 vehicles.

I doubt it. They can’t sell anything and won’t earn a sale putting this display retroactively.
I can only credit Tesla (begrudging) for adding dog mode, sentry, camping mode etc…. On my car post sale in 2019 and onward. That’s actually pretty cool but legacy car makers will never ever do that. It would be rare if they do.

The top photo is a 2025 Explorer. This is equipped with Ford Digital Experience. Ford cannot offer Ford Digital Experience on vehicles that are not equipped with the correct hardware.

Would Apple allow a 5 year old iPhone to run Apple Intelligence? The hardware would not support the software.

For 2025 model year Ford/Lincoln vehicles sold in the US, no vehicles are using SYNC 3.4
