2026 BS Big Bend. There is that annoying screen that comes on about all the seat belts. Red X means it’s not fastened, green check means it is. Here is the annoying part. Why do I have to freaking click ok every dang time I get in the car, to get it to disappear, even after all seat belts are clicked? It will stay on forever unless you click ok. Is there a way to turn this off? I found how to turn off the occupant alert for the back seat, but I can’t find it anywhere for the seat belts. Thanks for the help.

It self-cancels after a period of time. I think it’s 45 seconds or thereabouts. No way to change it via the screen interface, but there may be a setting that can be altered in the BCM via FORScan.

45 seconds? Holy crap! That is way too long and explains why I have not seen it disappear. Guess I just have to get used to it.

…or just push the button.

It’s not problematic, it was redundant at first for me, but now it’s second nature. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Good for you. I find it annoying, and I did say I would just have to get used to it. Additionally, it will cause unnecessary wear on that button.

I programmed it out with forscan.
I’m not much of a tech guy, even though I have done some things on vehicles before. However, I am not messing with ForScan at least for now. I will wait until my warranty is over before venturing down that path.

It's way less than 45 seconds. I don't know how long it is on mine but it feels like 10-15? I have the rear passenger reminder off; could that influence it?

Not sure of the answer to that, but I know it’s definitely longer that 10-15 seconds because I have waited longer than that to see if it would go away on its own and it did not. I have not waited 45 seconds though. Not really sure if I have waited 30 seconds.

For what it’s worth, I made it to a head count of 75. I know that’s not a stop watch but it definitely took longer than 60 seconds to disappear.

Mine can take over a minute to go away.

So I have been playing with this as mine had never seemed consistent. I live on a county road where there is no posted speed limit so some days I stroll away from my house and others I pick up speed faster. I realized that once you get over 40 mph the seatbelt screen clears. That is the ONLY way I can get it to go away on its own. If I am out and about in a town and going slower, it stays on until I get onto an onramp.
So this may be why so many people have various experiences. Depends on how soon your car gets to the speed it will clear. It is not time, but speed dependent.
Again, this is my experience with trial and error.
