The alarm in my Badlands keeps going off, has been triggered about 8-10 times and only owned the car for 9 days. The FordPass app messages say that the hood was triggered. Took it to my local Ford dealer and they ordered and replaced the hood latch. Brought the car home and the alarm went off yet again, with the same notification about the hood. Is anyone else having this issue or seen fixes? I've seen forums for older Escape models (late 00's) having false or overly sensitive alarms, but nothing with Ford's most current system. Curious as more people buy the new Bronco Sport if this will be a recall item or if it is an isolated event. Thanks!

This is happening to me too & causing MAJOR issues. It continues to go off while Iā€™m at work & disrupts the entire neighborhood frequently. Itā€™s definitely not an isolated event & I have been fighting them on this since I bought the vehicle. I will note that it seems to happen only around times that itā€™s raining/damp out. Not that it changes anything, but itā€™s a pattern I noticed (pretty sad thereā€™s even a pattern lol). Itā€™s bad situation for Ford since people constantly ask me about the car & all I can say is how annoyed I am.

Recalls are issued to correct safety related issues. Unless the hood latch is faulty to the point where it may open itself, itā€˜s not worthy of a recall.. If anything, Ford may issue a Technical Service Bulletin and cover it under warranty.

Hi,
Have you had this resolved yet or found out the issue? My 2022 Bronco Sport Big Bend is currently doing the same thing. I bought it 2 weeks ago with 8 miles on it. Itā€™s currently in the shop to have the hood latch fixed but Iā€™m worried from reading this that this wonā€™t fix the issue. The alarm has been going off at 12am, 3am, 5am and is waking me and my neighbors early in the morning. Itā€™s been very frustrating. Thank you!

Curious myself to what the outcome of this was for those who were having that issue.

Update: After complaining a couple more times, I took my BL back into the dealer here in SoCal and they had their alarm specialist play with it for a day. Ended up changing (lowering) the sensitivity to the alarm system and it fixed the issue. Itā€™s been about 8 months now and no more false alarms since!

I hope this is as easy as a fix for others experiencing ā€œhood latchā€ alarms triggering. In my case, donā€™t bother with the replacement latch/sensor, try asking your dealer to lower the alarm sensitivity.
