Does anyone have any idea as to which wires I can splice into to make the Ford Escape cupholders light up? I have the pigtail, I even have a console harness that has the connector for the cupholder illumination, and the cupholders STILL don't light up, even with that other harness installed. I don't know if maybe ambient lighting is a feature which can be activated with Forscan, and maybe that's the issue? The pigtail and the connector on the other harness both have three wires/three pins.

My plan is to install the original harness back in, since the other one is missing a USB power outlet connector, and for some reason my 12V cigarette lighter doesn't work with this other harness installed either.

So, if I reinstall the original harness into the console, does anyone know if there are three wires I could tap into to at least make it illuminate, or potentially dim with the instrument panel dimming as well?

I appreciate any and all help on this!!!

Pretty sure the yellow wire is for dimming. I ended up frying the leds in mine when bench testing. Put my own leds in.

There's plenty more people here who connected it up the factory way that hopefully can help

There should be a 3 pin connector in the console for cup lighting. I don't know if the Bronco Sport wiring works the same as the escape. But here goes:

GRN-RED wire is power for ambient lighting
YEL-BLU is LIN BUS. This comes from the Body Control Module, LIN 11 bus
BLK-BLU is ground

Not sure why there is a wire labeled "LIN BUS".

the connector going into the cupholder uses those same wire colors. I will see if my original console harness has these wires in it, and if so, I will tap into them, and reinstall the stock modified harness. Thank you so much for the information.

Right. Mine is a 21 and the info on the wires came from a 21 book on Wiring. The OP has a 23 so that might be an issue.

I wired up my '23 OBX. I tapped into the right footwell ambient lights. If you check through this forum, you'll find a really good thread with pictures and all.
