A gift to our Maveric brethren, Hopefully the tune, intercooler and turbo can be shared. After watching the video, I'm very interested in how it shifts. Additionally, how is Ford keeping the transmissions from turning into grenades???

Yeah, the transmission and/or RDU are already rated for slightly less torque than the 2.0 already puts out, right? I'm curious what else has been done to avoid issues there...
Even If Ford would sell me the transmission tune, I would pay out the nose for it. Just to make the paddle shifters on the badlands worth more than the .35 cents it cost Ford to glue them on the wheel…….

Agreed. I’ve contemplated buying the 2.3L Turbocharger. But… ya, that’s a plan for down the road once the factory warranty goes away. 🤣

I’d definitely be hesitant to do it with the transmission power rating it has currently.

Why Ford didn’t give the Badlands the 8F40 I’ll never understand… more power should correlate to a transmission that can handle it. But I digress.

The paddles are very useful when going downhill in the mountains. But that’s about it.

Ohhhhh and 1,700 MSRP doesn't seem totally insane either.
Not at all. But they do claim the bigger intercooler is needed, which is an additional $1000.

Orrrr they could just give us a tune to "De-Suck" the trans tuning and open it up for 93..... I know, wishful thinking.....

Wow, 2.3 turbocharger WITH tune is a steal at that price, honestly. It will need a few other things too. Not just IC. Better PCV catchcan system, colder plugs, and I imagine a new CAI? The turbo intake diameters are probably different, although you could probably get away with a different coupler, but I digress. But all worth it, to start cranking a solid 300+ across wider range of the RPM spectrum.

That being said, this is a SOLID 'NO' from me with the current transmission of this vehicle. I would've been all over this otherwise. 😩

Curious since its a ford performance item how the warranty would play out.
I think this is a great play to spur along the 2.0 platform.
Personally I would like to do a series of bolt ons and a custom tune to see how well the stock setup works. It should be plenty of power and torque due to the trans limitations.
Intake, Exhaust, and Intercooler with pipes with a tune should make things fun.

If I were to do this turbo swap I would immediately do all of the above bolt ons plus a catch can.

I had the FP tune on my Mustang. I think FP provided their own 30,000 mile warranty that would replace the violated Ford warranty. It didn't matter that it was "FP". Thankfully, I never needed either of them. Bottom line is, once you tune, that's an EASY way for Ford a dealer to deny a warranty claim on the powertrain.
