What's the final verdict on this tire size, for a Badlands? Does it fit? Is it necessary to get a lift or spacers or any other mod so it doesn't rub? Not planning on doing any offroading, just city driving. Really wanted to avoid doing anything other than just buying the tires.

Did you get them? I went with 245 k02s myself and they fit without any body modification. If you want the 255, take it to a 4x4 outfitter, they can fit them. I don't think you need a front lift, but you might hit the pinch weld behind the front wheels when turning. In that case, you can cut the weld back. If you do go off-road, you might want a front spacer lift from Daystar (leveling kit) but I would try them first and see if you rub.

This size should work with little to no rubbing, based on our data the largest tire height that will work work without any rubbing is 31.11" and a width of 265. The 255/65 is 30.05" tall so it should work.

We can help further pm on the way.

???? Really!!!!!! You need to tell that to the people with 30.5" 245/70/17's that have rubbing problems. It's all in their heads.

First time I have seen @Discount Tire give bad advice. 29.5” is the biggest tire that will fit without body modification. Really it is somewhere between 29.5” and 30” but by the time you get to 30” it will rub in certain conditions. Stick to 29.5” (245/65/17 or 245/60/18) and you won’t be cutting the body welds (which is equivalent to cutting the frame).

I am running 70 sidewall with 235 tread. That is the bar none biggest you can get on the truck no rub. Or a 245 with a 65 sidewall

Correct 245/65/r17 or 235/70r/17 seem to be the largest with no rubbing and no body mods. I can personally confirm the245/65/r17 has no rubbing. General consensus from almost every forum you can find is 29.5in is the max you can go

245/70/17 will rub and is 30.5. Had to go down to 245/65/17. And cutting the pinch on these is dumb af.

I run 235/65/18 listed as 30”. 7,000 miles 1 rotation, asked for more inspection of rubbing, none found. I would love to go bigger but not at expense of rubbing or trimming.

What brand/model of tire is that? They are all a little different, so it would be good to find out the exact dimensions from Tire Rack.

Toyo Open Country AT3. And I do have ReadyLift 1.5” SST kit
That tire is on the big end of the spectrum for sure. Tire Rack lists the rev/mile as 692 and diameter as 30". The same size Falken A/T is listed at 30.2" but the rev/mile is 702, which would mean a smaller diameter. I guess we can't rely on one or the other or both of Tire Rack's numbers for specs.

Have you done any more aggressive offroading with that tire, or just normal road use?

Thank you for the correction, we are sending this to our fitment team for corrections to our system data.

It's weird because the Ford Engineer talking about the Badlands said you could fit 31s but anything larger would require modifications. So obviously something either changed between that interview and the eventual release of the Bronco Sport, or it wasn't a Ford Engineer and was instead someone from the Ford Marketing Dept.
