2025 Badlands Sasquatch on order
I've got a 2025 BS Badlands Sasquatch. The other day I was driving in the dark to check out the headlights. Love how bright they are! But I noticed a "dead" spot on the left side that leaves a black spot with no light. There is Video attached from my dash cam. Is this normal or is something wrong with the light? In researching it there is some mention that it is there on purpose so as not to blind the oncoming driver. Just wondering if others experience this. It's a little annoying, but I could get used to it. Thanks :)

It’s normal for cars with LED headlights. The dark spot is indeed there to prevent blinding oncoming drivers.

Actually, the BS dark spot is MUCH less noticeable than on my previous Tucson. That car had a massive triangular notch in the same area. Everyone who owned a Tucson complained loudly and frequently that it was super distracting. Yours is the first post I’ve seen about this issue on the BS, so Ford’s implementation doesn’t appear to create the massive hatred that the Hyundai does.

I was pleasantly surprised with the BS headlight spot. So, kudos to Ford for designing it right, IMO.

Yours is the first post I’ve seen about this issue on the BS,
There are a couple other posts here on the forum about the spots. LEDs are a double-edged sword when used as headlights. On the one hand they're much better at illuminating the road in front of you than all the other light sources used in the past. On the other, the color and brightness are really bad for oncoming traffic, especially when some @$$hat "adjusts" their aim higher than the factory setting. "Ima set my lights so I can see better; too bad so sad for the rest of you."

Thanks Doug! I guess you can tell I'm coming from the dark ages of an older car :)
