Hello all, My niece just picked up her car 3 days ago and is so excited to drive her Bronco. Unfortunately, she found this today but can't figure out where it's from. Any ideas?

That's what I thought at first from the pic, but it's hard plastic and the back has a tab that seems to indicate it clicks in somewhere.

She said it was in the area where you put your phone to charge, lodged at the back of it. But she also said that she can't find the other half and nothing in there looks broken.

Looks to me like part of the foot step at the lower door jamb. maybe it was broken by the assembly line, and another was installed, and the assembly line person tossed the broken piece into the cell phone cubby.

My dad told a story about his first brand new vehicle purchase, a 55 Chevy. He took it back after a week complaining of a door rattle.

The service department found a glass coke bottle inside the door when they removed the door cover.

That's a neat story.

That's a near story.

My guess, too, is a left over piece of something broken/replaced during manufacture.
and, yep, found a Seven-Up can inside the box frame on my new ‘82 Bronco. Guess it was tossed in a lunch, then the frame got welded shut. It didn’t rattle and I never got it out <lol>.

New or used?

Looks like a snapped battery cover off something like a GDO or gate opener. Does the dealer or previous owner have a remote stored in that tray? Seems like it would be a common spot. The schmutz stuck to it make me think it isn't a new off-the-line Ford part.
