Hi group,
Today marks 2 months since I picked up my Bronco Sport Badlands from the dealership, so I wanted to share my experience. I’ll leave some photos as a way to represent these first months. The idea is to share comments and experiences and also hear from you to see what your opinions are.
General evaluation
Overall, I’m very satisfied. I think it’s a very well-balanced vehicle between daily use and off-road. It delivers what it promises within its segment and for my goals.
I found the door seals to be very good (on dusty gravel roads with very fine dust, the seals worked VERY well keeping dust outside. I checked all around the 4 doors and the tailgate, and honestly it performed great. That’s why I don’t suspect the seals when it comes to noise. I’ll attach a photo where you can see dust outside the seal and the inside clean. It may seem minor, but after 4 days of fine dust it gives a very good impression of how well they work).
My conclusions of negative / improvable aspects:
A LOT of highway noise, really annoying. Does this happen to you as well?
It doesn’t have an independent speed limiter (only cruise control).
Factory tires are very road-oriented and not very robust for off-road (I already changed them and now I run all 5 tires the same, larger, wider, and with a more aggressive tread).
On the other hand, I’ll share a bit more…
I bought a FORScan cable:
I’m about to start working on configurations.
Thanks to all the information shared in forums and by people contributing (Gabriel Moustain here in the group has helped a lot).
I’m also building a custom roof rack for: off-road lights, Starlink, ham radio antennas, recovery boards, etc.
My conclusion after testing and pushing it a bit is that it’s obviously not a hardcore off-road vehicle, but within its category it’s very capable, very versatile, and allows you to get into more demanding situations than one would expect.
If you’re interested, I can share updates later on FORScan, the roof rack, and new off-road experiences.
Is anyone else using it in sand or mud?
Anyone else experiencing high wind noise at highway speeds?
I’d be interested in comparing experiences.

- Build quality (in certain details, not the visible ones haha)
Something that surprised me is the quality of the clips and panel fasteners. In other cars, you remove panels a couple of times and they become loose or break. Here you can tell it’s designed to be worked on without breaking everything in the process. And since I like modifying my vehicles, I see a lot of possibilities to work on it, both electrically and mechanically. - Off-road capabilities: For me, the best part of the vehicle.
I tested it in Sand dunes (Villa Gesell), Mud, Slopes (Tandil), Highway.
The traction system works really well.
In the dunes I ended up recovering other vehicles, and this week I also helped a vehicle that couldn’t climb a slope in Tandil.
For the type of vehicle it is, I think it’s excellent. - Overall behavior: Very good balance between on-road and off-road. It feels safe and controllable in different conditions, wet roads, etc. (again, I compare it with vehicles I know: I previously had a Duster, then a Ram Rampage, and experience driving other vehicles occasionally)
- Fuel consumption: In the city: it consumes quite a lot, but it’s logical for a 2.0 with 250HP, so I don’t complain. On the highway: below 110 km/h it really surprised me in a good way, very efficient. If you push it more, consumption increases a lot (aerodynamics don’t help), but it’s totally expected for this type of vehicle and these CUBE-like geometries.
- Interior / ergonomics: I really like the ergonomics overall.
The tailgate table is very useful for daily use or short trips. For long trips: it’s not the most efficient in terms of space.
I would like to be able to place it higher to free up space underneath.
I will probably make some modification to better separate the cargo area from the cabin for safety reasons. I’d like to carry load (thinking about long trips) without it being loose inside the cabin. - Long trip comfort: Clear negative point: very noisy on the highway. The rest of the comfort is great. I changed the tires but that didn’t improve it. For me it’s mostly aerodynamics (it makes sense that it consumes fuel because of aerodynamics, but I find the wind noise very high… really noticeable and annoying at higher speeds).
I found the door seals to be very good (on dusty gravel roads with very fine dust, the seals worked VERY well keeping dust outside. - Sand performance: With lower tire pressure, I found the behavior to be excellent. Despite the limited ground clearance, the traction system works very well.
