I am a Hot Rod guy and the 1.5 has plenty of power for freeways. I have driven from Sacramento to Reno several times over the Sierra mountains and maintain 75-80 with no problem I would recommend it to anyone

We had 2016 Fusion with the older 4-cylinder 1.5 and it was fine. No strange noises and zero mechanical issues after 40,000 miles.

Before we test drove a Big Bend with the 3-cylinder 1.5, we had one of the last Fusions with the older 1.5 as a rental from our dealership (our Escape Titanium AWD with the 2.0 was getting a scratch repaired).

I was surprised at just how buttery smooth the Fusion was, even more than the 2016 Fusion we had owned. The 1.5 was quite impressive.

The Big Bend was a different story. The 1.5 in that sounded and felt really rough. It was quite unpleasant in comparison. It gave us a bad impression of the BS.

The Badlands was a different story. It’s fantastic with the 2.0.
