I've had my OBX for about 18 months, and I really loved it. But, It's always bothered me that when I back-up at night, the license plate lights completely flair out the back-up camera, even when the camera lens is spotlessly clean. I don't know why this took me so long to figure out, but I...
The auto dimming mirror in the Outer Banks has five wires. White, Grey, Black, Yellow and Green.
My guess is that black is ground, White is always on 12V, and that Grey is the power-when-on wire. Can anyone confirm this?
What are the Yellow and Green?
Can any of you ford insiders get a...
I have had Mr. Banks since September. Over the first 5,000 miles I got 30 MPG overall consistently. Three weeks ago I did a system update and my mileage has dropped to between 26 and 27 MPG. At the same time, the Auto start/stop has disabled itself.
At first I thought it was the cold weather...
I'm not that tall, but I sit just high enough that if I put the visor down it blocks a significant part of my vision. I can't see traffic lights at all.
With it up, there is so much windshield above my vision area that I'm blinded by the glare. Am I alone on this?
Has anyone tinted about the...
I have looked everywhere and I don't know if I can do this. Can I remove the Sirius option from my sources. If so, how? I don't use it and probably never will.
I bought the cargo mat with my Outer Banks. But since the Outer Banks has a rubber cargo floor, I don't really need it. I'm in Traverse City Michigan, but I travel often to the Detroit area and could drop it off. IF your wanted to meet halfway from Grand Rapids, we could do that too (who doesn't...
I don't like the Auto Dimming Mirror on my OB (there's no override switch), so I am swapping it for a regular mirror. The regular mirror is going to cost me $90, so I'll ship the dimming mirror to you for $110. Half the price of ordering one form Ford. If you happen to be in Traverse City...
I've have had my Outer Banks only three days, but I've already learned a few things that contradict what others have said on this forum.
1. I don't hate auto start. Perhaps it's because most of my life I have driven a manual, but I find the auto start stop no trouble at all. I don't immediately...
I've always sworn not to buy a first model year car, especially from Ford. In 2000 we bought my wife a 1st model year Focus, and it was nothing but trouble. It ate bearings like fuel, and after three year Ford refused to continue covering them.
Add to that the many reports of strange issues...
Is it possible to install a basket directly on the rails without adding the crossbars? It seems like a waste to put on crossbars just to cover them with a basket, and it will mount higher up. I'd like to install a basket on the rails to keep it as low as possible.
Thanks,
Tom
I usually keep my cars well over 100,000 miles and many years. And since the BS is a new model, I'm thinking about going with the mac daddy of ESP warranties, the 7 year/150,000miles. I have questions:
1. Has anyone used the ESP warranties? What is your experience with covering repairs? I have...
I had originally ordered a Big Bend, and I have recently changed to an Outer Banks, because I realized there are many upgrrades offered in the Outer Banks. It seems that there is more to it than just leather seats, some more meaningful than others.
Cosmetic
Body Color Door handles (black on...
These seem to be similar rails. Does anyone have experience with either one? Both manufacturers say they don't fit, I think because you need two different lengths, but they can be ordered separately.
I really want the low profile these offer.
Any experience with these in terms of sound...
I don't even have my BB yet, but we need some data from the field.
Please post the MPG you are getting and the driving conditions. It also might be helpful to summarize your driving style from lead foot to old lady.
Thanks,
Tom
Every car that I've ever loved has been bright red. 1980 Ford Fiesta made in Germany, red. Saturn Vue, red. Fiat 500, red.
With the exception of the fiesta, which was a landmark vehicle, the other two didn't necessarily inspire most people to loyalty, so I think the love had something to do...
