It can take upwards to 60-90 minutes, if you are not going to be driving your vehicle, make sure you turn off the Automatic Idle Shutoff feature. This will also engage again each time you do a key cycle, you will perform 1-2 key cycles for the USB Map update and will need to turn off that...
I gave up a while ago on downloading from computer and just pay the $40 to get the drive from Ford ..I’ve not had opportunity to use it yet to see differences , others have said it’s smoother and the voice response is better
I am hoping so. They sent me a recovery file to
Put on USB( I already did it) ,I am waiting for new usb before I remove everything for the Nav it will remove Nav, voice and gracenotes. Then they are supposed to be expediting a new Nav 2 22 USB. I guess I’m going to have to go for a very long...
I am according to my About Sync . I did the download on 9/2. Can I reinstall again to be certain. I did get another pop up stating it was updated to 3.4.23188 and I did it via USB which I thought was odd. I think I accidentally turned wifi updates on
I kept getting a PKG_ERR03. Somehow my install got corrupted and it was the USB from Ford for the NAV 2 22. I also got escalated to a Ford Technology Center Specialist. They are refunding my cost for the subscription(without losing the 5 years), sent me a recovery file to download (will...
USB easier and faster, wifi can be very time consuming and iffy for some who don't get the best wifi from their home wifi or whatnot...but I get your idea of chilling in the car for a bit while it downloads. Sometimes the peace is worth the time ...
I highly recommend updating with a USB, the wifi can take a very long time and if the connection isn't the best signal you will be there forever ....USB is easy
I am sure some have had issues. It is Ford Sync versions, the updater on the cyanlabs site is not related or
Agree, that's why it's noted to be done at ones own risk. I just wish Ford would get on the ball and release the fix publicly sooner than later as the issues with the 22251 build...
adding to this CyanLabs updater is done exactly to Ford methods, there is not jailbreaking of any sort. The methods are the exact same to update ...From the Cyan Labs website: Packages that you will install are Ford’s, CyanLabs just created a tool to facilitate the access to them lets say.
I am pretty sure you can still update from the Ford website. It's all the same files that Ford releases, somehow CyanLabs gets them out there before Ford.
The software(ie Sync versions) from CyanLabs is not aftermarket per se, it is from Ford but perhaps not released to public just yet. With that information CyanLabs is NOT endorsed by Ford and you are using their system at your own risk. I think this is why many choose not to use the cyan labs...
The new version FROM Ford will be released end of September to fix the issues with the 3.4.22251 RWDATA . I spoke to them directly yesterday (spoke to Ford, they will be releasing the 23088 update) Also, you can update to 3.4.23088 or 3.4.23188 (this version fixes the log issues/RWDATA issues)...
If you want you can also update the Sync version to 3.4.23088 or 3.4.23188 (this corrects the RWDATA issue/log files not compressing, which is/was the issue with the 3.4.22251 version) from Cyanlabs and yes it can be done with a MY20 APIM. Just follow the instructions. You can then update to...
