Been using a Scan Gauge II on the Sport since the beginning.
There's a ScanGauge III out now that programs itself but it's a lot larger. The II gives me everything I need for towing with the Sport.
It also leaves out that Package 53B (note 2) is required for towing and you should refer to the Ford towing guide.
Nothing has changed from 2021 to 2023.
Next time it's up in a lift and the covers are off if I'm there. You have the part numbers above. Have your parts guy look them up using your VIN and a VIN with the tow package from the factory.
I went through that with two dealers before I purchased mine. Took getting the reps involved. They are clueless and want to sell you a car. Unless they're putting in the larger transmission cooler you'll still be at 1,500 no matter what they tell you. Get it in writing that you can safely tow...
There's a lot of misinformation here.
You have a 1,500 pound tow limit unless you have the tow package installed at the factory. It has nothing to do with the hitch or sway control.
The factory tow package has a limit of 2,000 pounds. Without it, just adding any hitch gives you a limit of 1,500...
and it should be mentioned for towing 2,000 pounds you should have the factory installed tow package. Just adding the hitch doesn't give you the larger transmission cooler the tow package gives you.
I don't think it will be a problem as that narrow a strip at that low an angle won't block the vision of anything but the section of the hood that reflects the sun. What would be better is a piece of vinyl for the hood that covers the two raised portions completely from side to side.
It's a Coleman 10x10 with the optional screen sides. Don't know if they still sell it but there are others.
I did this a few times before we got our teardrop camper to pull behind it.
I used a screen pop-up over the back, put a rope on the inside handle so I could pull the hatch closed from inside. Wife made me screens with privacy flaps so I could keep the rear windows open. I got a Coleman twin air mattress that fits in the back.
They have to wait for a full truckload to local dealers and then wait for a truck and driver to be available. There's a National shortage of drivers. It's been that way for some time. Mine sat for well over a week two years ago.
Don't notice any difference on mine and I have the factory tow package. It might look that way over the Big Bend because the black roof may make the raised roof section stand out more.
The Compass didn't do it for me on test rides. Felt unresponsive on the road and didn't like the ride on dirt roads. Styling wasn't great either. My wife kept saying the "X" tail lights made it look like a dead cartoon character. Now I can't unsee it.
Edit - (It's the renegade she thought the...
Doesn't bother me. Only happens occasionally first thing in the morning backing out of the garage but then I don't live in a city with neighbors all around.
