  1. Credit where credit is due

Figured I’d laud a small aspect of the Bronco Sport since I’ve spent so much time poo-pooing my recent experiences. But this door “cup holder slot” that perfectly fits my LARGE YETI water bottle doesn’t probably get enough love. In a world full of vehicles with small holders, they got this one...
  2. Wheel Skins

I concur with the 'plastidip' suggestion if you want a 'cheaper' solution. The plastdip will slowly chip off though. Then you'll get to a point where you just take off the plastdip and start all over again. Powdercoating stock rims seems like overkill. I got the RTR's on ebay for a pretty...
  3. Warranty work strikes again for the Swamp Ape

This is usually my line of thinking when sitting thru 'finalizing the paperwork' on a purchase. Like someone else said on this thread, they wouldn't be selling them if they were profitable to the buyer. It makes for great peace of mind though, when someone might not really have reason for it...
  4. Warranty work strikes again for the Swamp Ape

Got the Ape back yesterday. Clacking/Thunking sound out of the rear end during 1st gear turns are gone. The deliberation begins for me. There is a part of me that feels I'd be the unluckiest idiot in the world to have two transmissions fail on me. And FWIW, its been fairly smooth since it...
  5. Warranty work strikes again for the Swamp Ape

Literally one of the options is "I feel confident in my BS past 60K". This is you, sir. Have a vote. :)
  6. Warranty work strikes again for the Swamp Ape

yes. if you do this tsb before a problem starts, there is a good chance the problem can be avoided. apparently, there was no good check valve in the old hose, and in humid clients like mine, the hose would just suck up moisture into the diff and contaminate the friction properties of the fluid.
  7. Warranty work strikes again for the Swamp Ape

Yeah, my fervor for this vehicle took a nosedive after the tansmission issue 😩. They're all the rage in my neighborhood. And you were able to build that into the financing and total cost of the vehicle? I'll be honest, on all my negotiations, including my wife's, everytime I get past final...
  8. Warranty work strikes again for the Swamp Ape

Again, this 2.0 engine is solid if you know how to take care of it. That maybe we can agree on. It's all the other stupid sh!t that Ford noticeably cut corners on to put this vehicle together for off-road enthusiasts at a competive price. That whole waterpump fiasco on the 1.5 is exhibit A1...
  9. Warranty work strikes again for the Swamp Ape

I'm HUGE into PM. I would've got the transmission fluid changed at 30K and the RDU at 50K. But neither of those will be necessary after replacing the part and getting fresh fluid then. I did change my coolant at 30K, and have religiously changed my own oil every 5K miles. The engine, I feel...
  10. Warranty work strikes again for the Swamp Ape

I've had small things replaced under warranty. PCV valves and hose type stuff from what I can search my memory for. Never did I have an entire transmission replaced under warranty at just over 20K miles...
  11. Bronco Sport got Whacked

Would love to see a thread of poignant observations made about the vehicle, its body, its suspensions, its parts or drivetrain from this experience. This type of work does breed an excellence in understanding.
  12. Underground Graphics Bronco Sport transformed by Cobb Tuning

    1) software update. specifically for the PCM 2) See Moss-Magnuson act. But to be concise...ALMOST IN ALL CASES.

I can just about reach out to the other side of the roof when standing on this. Moki Ascent Folding Vehicle Door Step | Duluth Trading Company
  14. Roof ladder cringe

Manufacturers in China will design and produce the most ridiculous sh!t because its pennies on the dollar to do so, PLUS they know some idiot with money to burn in the United States will buy it.
  15. 2025 4Runner Production Begins December 2024, with 100K+ Units in First Year

As a long time Toyota and Honda buyer, before I then got my Mustang almost 10 years ago, and subsequently the BS ... I will most definitely be looking at this as my next pivot.
  16. Trip Report: Citrus Wildlife Management Area, Inverness FL with 2 Bronco Sports

Looks awesome! Might DM you if I'm ever in that area again. However, I did so some OHV'ing in the Lower Suwanee Wildlife Refuge which is not too far from there. But those trails were a lot easier than some of these pics you got here! Great job!!
  17. Badlands 2.0 Transmission Clutch Failure

@Dude I appreciate all the info. I didn't know it was this well discussed before I opened my thread. However, I did spend time going through all these posts, and as far as I can tell, there is no rock solid conclusion to be had. But I do want to stress that the engine being "de-rated" is a...
  18. Badlands 2.0 Transmission Clutch Failure

I'd agree with your premise; then tell you "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on ME" ?‍♂️ Don't know what else to tell you. I brought you all the information on my pain. If you want to just let it go in one ear and out the other, feel free. That is your right. I'm just...
  19. Badlands 2.0 Transmission Clutch Failure

And FWIW, I don't think the 1.5's have to be concerned with this particular issue. My entire theory is much of this is due to the peak torque of the 2.0 vs what the 8F35 is designed for. I just feel those numbers are too close for comfort.
  20. Badlands 2.0 Transmission Clutch Failure

Sorry. I think I missed this post. This is probably spot on to what happend. The only difference is since it was under warranty, they replaced the ENTIRE transmission. Was there any thought of what was the culprit to your situation?
