Personally I’m not interested in towing anything more than 2k lbs with my BS. So I’d rather have the 1.5L engine and the great gas mileage. If I needed to tow more, I would get a Ranger or an explorer if needed an SUV

Did your dealer do the install for just $200? The dealer I bought my BS from was telling me they would charge close to $1500-$1600. That included the wiring. They said if they do it they have to do it the exact way Ford does it at the factory. Soooo for that price I figured I might attempt it...

So you think the trailer sway control is also tied to the Ford OEM wiring? On my infotainment screen I see the setting to be able to turn sway control on and off. So I was hoping that meant it is truly a software+sensor thing and it would still work even with the Curt wiring.

Thanks. What I’ve read in several other posts is that with the factory installed package the tow rating is 2,000 lbs. otherwise it’s just 1,500.

I believe that’s correct. So even if I go with the OEM Hitch I will still only have 1500 lb towing capacity.

And so I assume you have no worries about the way it installs compared to the OEM version?
