I understand your point of view and would agree if the 1.5L performed how youāve described it. But my experience with it is nowhere close to gutless acceleration merging onto the interstate. It is quite peppy actually even in eco mode. Iāve merged into heavy traffic multiple times with ease and...
Personally Iām not interested in towing anything more than 2k lbs with my BS. So Iād rather have the 1.5L engine and the great gas mileage. If I needed to tow more, I would get a Ranger or an explorer if needed an SUV
Are you sure you have to have the factory wiring to get the sway control? On my BSOB I do not have the factory towing and have yet to install any aftermarket hitch or wiring, but the sway control setting is available to me on my infotainment screen and I can turn it on and off. I thought the...
Did your dealer do the install for just $200? The dealer I bought my BS from was telling me they would charge close to $1500-$1600. That included the wiring. They said if they do it they have to do it the exact way Ford does it at the factory. Soooo for that price I figured I might attempt it...
I am still wanting to add an hitch and wiring to mine too. I think I will install it myself. There are plenty of videos out there showing how to do it. I am pretty sure I will go with the Ford hitch. I prefer how it installs over the Curt and the other brands talked about in this forum. In one...
thanks for the response. The instructions Iāve seen for the ford harness looks much more involved. Including taking all kinds of interior trim pieces off to route wires to the back of the vehicle. Thatās my main reason for considering Curt. Do you recall the brand of wiring harness you bought...
So you think the trailer sway control is also tied to the Ford OEM wiring? On my infotainment screen I see the setting to be able to turn sway control on and off. So I was hoping that meant it is truly a software+sensor thing and it would still work even with the Curt wiring.
My BS did not come with the factory installed trailer package. So Iāve done the research on what hitch I want to install. Now Iām trying to decide whether to buy the Ford OEM trailer wiring kit or the Curt trailer wiring kit. Any opinions on the pros and cons of each? The Curt looks much...
I saw in your original post where you asked Mark S his opinion on the way it mounts. Did you ever get an answer on that? That is my primary question between Draw-tire, Curt and the OEM receiver. Seems like the OEM receiver has the most solid mounting method but not sure if itās really that much...
