And I've posted this before, for those with android, there's a Motorola Wireless Android Auto adapter for $79 that works nearly flawlessly. I also like it because when you use the usb cable certain things such as google maps on your phone wont let you search etc, not so with the wireless adapter.

Change the usb setting on your phone, and then change it back again. Also, and I know this is silly, but restart your phone. Had to do that with my wife's phone and its worked fine since.
