UPDATE:
Well, the BS is back from the 10k service and replacement of the tire that was damaged and unable to be plugged... all seemed to go well, although on the ride home the infotainment screen locked up... again.... (it was already in for the infotainment issue not long ago and had been...
Bringing my '23 BS Heritage Trim (3-cyl) in for it's 10k service this week. Coincidentally, i also got a flat tire this past friday. The local tire shop couldn't do much with it (i had picked up a razor blade in the tire and it was too long a cut to do much with it). They popped the spare on...
Usually, at a 1/4 tank, i start thinking about filling up again and almost always fill up by the time the computer shows a range of about 75 miles.... saves some worry, and also running the tank down to nothing, which isn't good.
I track my mileage pretty closely and drive VERY consistently (both route and driving style) My mileage is off about 10% since having the recall work completed. I have questions.
So... i'm not a mechanic or electrical engineer, just a guy driving his BS and keeping an eye on mpg regularly...
Had this same problem. Screen going blank, radio issues, etc…. On my BS with Heritage trim
Took it to the dealer last week for the recent recall (BCM) and had them address the issues infotainment system issues at the same time.
They said it was a software issue. Haven’t had a problem with...
Had the recall work done. Dropped it off on the evening of 6/19 and picked up on 6/20.... so far so good.
Along with the recall, i had them look at my infotainment screen issues (screen went black intermittently and when the screen DID work, the rearview camera would stay on while in drive...
I understand aftermarket devices are readily available. I’m just saying that, with all the self diagnostic tools and electronics on board, we shouldn’t have to purchase aftermarket. The info is in the computer, simply make it available on the instrument cluster…
Instead of baffling us with BS and electronic gimmickry, why not simply include a volt meter so we can see what’s going on with the battery at speed and at idle. Seemed like a decent and useful feature in vehicles for 8 or 9 decades prior to this…. No?
And while I’m at it…. We shouldn’t have...
Same problem here… cropped up about 3 weeks ago. Sometimes the screen is just blank as well. I’ve got to bring it in for the recent recall and will make sure they check that out as well. Hopefully just a small hassle.
I should also add that scheduled start and remote lock/unlock also became...
While not that exact message, i've had times where the app was non responsive. Has it been going on for a long time? If not, It could be something at Ford's end at the moment. I usually give it some time, try again later in the day, and then it's fine...
I think I read a similar situation and it turned out to be the “cab vent” that lets air escape when you close your doors, back hatch, etc…. The flap that (I’m guessing) helps to keep critters out, starts vibrating at certain speeds. Could be wrong, but I seem to recall that. (My BS does...
That transition has been nearly 30 years in the making (the first Prius was in.... 1997?) but i totally agree with you on Toyota being smart in their strategy. I would have no hesitation in purchasing a hybrid. A full-on EV? No thank you. Between the stunning lack of charging infrastructure...
Good luck and hope that your dealer gets you squared away quickly and addresses all your questions. I've had a pretty strong smell of exhaust and or brakes on a couple of occasions but chalked it up to the vehicle in front of me burning oil or having brake problems since i could find no issues...
I've had the FordPass app fail to send a remote start to the car every now and then so, that's a little inconvenient. I've also had it tell me it failed to start the car, only go go out and find that it was, in fact, running. Happens more often than i would expect...
Am I correct in...
So…an update; Not a huge amount of snow, maybe 3-4 inches… sorta wet. First outing in the BS Heritage last night was just fine. (Heritage trim, not the Limited) AWD system did its job and the ABS helped keep things under control in some hard braking tests. (NO other cars around)
Tires...
I'm in CT... and, since nobody really has a clue on what is expected for snow this weekend, i'll likely just have to look out the window once it's happening and go from there.
Looking forward to seeing how the BS 1.5 handles in the snow and slippery stuff (currently running on the stock...
Perhaps there is an issue with the Anti-lock braking system? or was there a layer of sand on the roadway? I wouldn't expect the car to experience that sort of behavior unless the wheels locked up during hard braking... especially on a clean dry surface.
