  1. it does not display the time

I appreciate your suggestions. Replies below. This has been done several times, as well as re-loading the software. Still persists. Apple OEM cables across the board. This has occurred when leaving the phone plugged in while I exit the car and when removing it. The other day I was using...
  2. it does not display the time

Certainly. -Sync does not not always link the current song info on the video screen with the dash cluster. Sometimes it will catch up, sometimes it will not after changing multiple channels or tracks. -Periodically it will not connect to CarPlay after turning off but it was just on. Think of...
  3. it does not display the time

That mimics reviews I've read as well. I think part of my general irritation is a distaste for the things Ford did/didn't do on these and the issues that cannot seem to be diagnosed like my transmission issue or the intermittent Sync problems that are "solved" by reinstalling the software...
  4. it does not display the time

Speak for yourself. I have the latest Sync 3 build and it is full of bugs. Not as bad as the previous but still not perfect. I've had that same "update" done three times and it still isn't right. And that doesn't speak to the Sync 4 ongoing issues in other vehicles per the dealers.
  5. it does not display the time

Check your version against the current build/updates. If you search through the forums you should be able to find how to check it ( I can't remember how, sorry) and update. It does take a while to update FWIW, around an hour or so. Sync is notoriously buggy.
  6. NEW APPLE CARPLAY

I'm less enthused by government mandates on anything than manufacturers actually coming up with reasonably good UX on their own that differentiates their brands but I get where you are coming from. Backup cams are a great safety feature overall, just like ABS and generally speaking airbags. HU...
  7. NEW APPLE CARPLAY

I, for one, would love it if the manufacturers allowed the CarPlay-run Apple Maps/Waze info to be displayed in the dash cluster. I use Maps daily and though I get the turn notifications and all on my watch, it still requires taking my eyes from the road. Pre-CarPlay, Mercedes would put their...
  8. Presets disappearing & CarPlay Latency

Sync 3.4, Build 22251_Product The latency issues with CarPlay seem to have gotten better but the preset thing is annoying. I wonder if there is a way to tell Sync to not grab the Bluetooth signal from the phone and just default to CarPlay? Seems like every 3rd time I start the car I have to...
  9. Presets disappearing & CarPlay Latency

FWIW I just ran an errand and all 5 presets from the last time I drove it were there and the latency for CarPlay was minimal. Go figures. Will be leaving shortly for an appointment and will see if that's still the case.
  10. Presets disappearing & CarPlay Latency

I was trying to resist the update on the iOS but my other devices acted all screwy.
  11. Presets disappearing & CarPlay Latency

iOS 17.1.1- latest update. Will have to check the Sync build to see where it lands, bought in early July. Ive noticed some bugs in the iOS, too on other ecosystems. My home automations were a little messy.
  12. Presets disappearing & CarPlay Latency

This may be just an annoyance but lately on startup intermittently the available preset screens goes from my usual 4 to 2. I can switch it back by going into the setup screens and telling it, but it is aggravating. Anyone else had this issue? Secondly, since the most recent iOS update I've...
  13. Sleep + Ford Pass is a no go.

That's really odd but candidly I'm not entirely surprised-- the new battery tech is wonky. And if you think the battery issues on these are bad you should see what the Jeep guys deal with. What irks me is the only two vehicles in the Ford lineup that can use the phone in place of a key is the...
  14. What Apps Do You Use/Recommend

Fordpass is relatively worthless unless you need to remotely lock and unlock your vehicle or remote start it. That's about it. I use CarPlay as the hub and all my apps run off that so you may not have the same experience. I'm all Apple across the board so if you're using a Droid YMMV. --Apple...
  15. Ford TSB 22-2485 - Wireless Charger Inoperative / Poor Performance With Magsafe Charging iPhones

I've noticed every wireless charging pad I've come across generates a decent amount of heat... and you're correct- the pad doesn't keep up with the drain on this or any other vehicle I've driven with one. Neat tech, way underwhelming in practice.
  16. Ford TSB 22-2485 - Wireless Charger Inoperative / Poor Performance With Magsafe Charging iPhones

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B1PC81CF/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1 Works on MagSafe and Qi chargers interchangeably. I use the Rennline (Course Motorsports sister co) MagSafe charger in my BMW, our Belkin MagSafe charging base (the ones that do watches, phones, and...
  17. DASHCAM

When I researched which wires I could tap into for power for my V1 I did come across some aftermarket USB harnesses that should work with Broncos.. They are out there.
  18. Ford TSB 22-2485 - Wireless Charger Inoperative / Poor Performance With Magsafe Charging iPhones

Good question, I should have provided more details. Different cases but we use a common MagSafe desk top charger frequently and don't have any issues.
  19. Ford TSB 22-2485 - Wireless Charger Inoperative / Poor Performance With Magsafe Charging iPhones

Our phones are identical and we both have MagSafe compatible cases that we use regularly with other MagSafe chargers. My phone will charge on the pad, so will my AirPods. Her phone will not. It really doesn't matter to us because we use the phones plugged in for CarPlay and there's no wireless...
